accessoriesde sig nedbyothermanufacturersareno ttobeutilizedasacomponentofInvaca re’spatientliftsystem.Useofthese
productsis prohibitedandwillvoidthe
lift’s warranty .Usetheslingthatisrec ommend edbytheindividual’sdoctor,nurseor
medicalassistantfo rthecomfortandsafetyoftheindividualthatisbeinglifted.
Ifthe patientliftisusedintheareaofashowerorbath,ensurethatthepatientliftiswipedcleanof
anymoisture afteruse.DO
NOTstoretheliftinadampareaorinadampcondition.Periodicallyinspectallcompone ntsofthepatientliftforsignsof
corrosion.Replaceallpartsthatareco rroded ordamaged.

Assembling the Lift
DONOTovertightenmountinghardware.Thiswillda magemountingbrackets.
Using the Sling
IndividualsthatusetheStandAssistSlingMUSTbeabletosupportthemajorityoftheirownweight,otherwiseinjurymayoccur .
StandAssistSlings:DONOT usethestandassistslingin combinationwiththepatientli ft asatransportdevice.Itisintendedto
transferanindi vidual fromone
restingsurfacetoanother(suchasabedtoawheelchair).
StandAssistSlings:Beforeliftingthepatient,makesurethebottomedgeofthestandassistslingispositionedonthelow e rback
ofthepatientandthepatient’sarmsareoutsidethestandassistsling.
StandAssistSlings:Th ebelt
MUSTbesnug, butcomfortableonthepatient,otherwisethepatientcanslideoutoftheslingduring
transfer , possiblycausinginjury.
TransferSlings:Beforeliftingthepatient,makesurethebottomedgeofthetransferslingisatthebaseofthespineandthepatient’s
armsareoutsidethe
transfersling.
TransferSlings:DONOTraisethepatienttoafullstandingpositionwhileusingthetransfersling,otherwiseinjurymayoccur.
Aftereac hlaunde rin g(inaccordancewithinstructionsonthe sling),inspectsling(s)forwear,tears, andloosestitching.
Bleached,torn,cut,fray ed,orbroken slingsareunsafeandcould
resultininjury.Discardimmediately.
DONOTalterslings.
Besuretochecktheslingattachmentseachtimetheslingisremovedandreplaced,toensurethatitisproperlyattachedbefore
thepatientisremov ed fromastationaryobject(bed,chairorcommode).
Ifthe patientis inawheelchair ,secure
thewheellocksinplacetoprev entthechairfrommoving forw ardsorbackwards.
Operating the Lift
Makesurethereisanaudibleclickwhenmountingbatteryonthebatterychargertoconfir mpropermounting.Otherwise,injury
ordamage mayoccur.
Usethehandlestopushorpullthe patientlift.
