1 - OVERVIEW
This manual describes how to create a simple process.
This will enable you to understand and get familiar with the system.
With this process done and successful, you will be able to go forwards and create more complex processes.
1.1 - Prerequisite
1.1.1 - Workstation
The following equipment has been installed on the workstation.
- The part to tighten is in place.
- The Innity station has been installed on the workstation and is connected to the database.
- The scanner is connected to a USB port of the Innity station.
- The Desoutter "Nano 6 I/O remote box" (I/O module) is connected to the Innity station.
- The picking box is in place and connected to the I/O module (Nano).
- The Desoutter tightening tool is ready to start the Pset driven by the controller.
- CVI FUSION has been installed on the computer and is connected to the database.
All instructions for installation are given in the installation and upgrade manual available at http://resource-center.
desouttertools.com.
1.1.2 - Users
People working on the workstation have been defined as follows:
- Two operators execute the job on the workstation.
- One supervisor monitors the job.
- All will log in the station by typing a password on the station display.
1.1.3 - Process
The process to execute is as follows:
- step 1: the operator scans a barcode to identify the part.
- step 2: he takes 4 bolts in the picking box.
- step 3: he tightens the part by using the tightening tool.
- step 4: he conrms that the job is done by pressing a button on the station display.

1.2 - To-do list
Your to-do list is as follows:
Task 1 Programming the process by creating projects into CVI FUSION:
- the project "Station" for the Innity station
- the project "Users" for the operators and the supervisor
- the project "Assets" for the tightening tool and the Nano.
- the project "Process" for the process to execute
Task 2 Deploying the process to the station and have the cycle running on the workstation several times
Task 3 Producing a report showing all cycles made today

2 - CREATING PROJECTS INTO CVI FUSION
2.1 - Users
Launch "CVI FUSION" software.
From CVI FUSION desktop, click the tile "User manager".
Click this icon to create a project.
Type the name of the project "Operators and supervisor" and click "OK" to validate.

Click this icon.
Click this icon on the right pane to create a user.
Enter the name of the user.
Select the type of user.
Operator
Supervisor
Enter the PIN code for this user. The code can be 4-8 digits in length.

Click this icon on the right pane to save.
Repeat the procedure to create the other users.
For example:
John Smith 1111
Peter Kovacs 2222
Maria Lopez 3333
All are now listed on the left side of the screen.
Click this icon to save the project.
Click this icon to close the project.
2.2 - Assets
2.2.1 - Tightening tool
From CVI FUSION desktop, click the tile "Asset Manager".
Click this icon to create a project.

Type the name of the project "My_assets" and click "OK" to validate.
Click this icon.
Click this icon to create an asset.
In the pane "Common":
Enter its name "Tightening tool".
In the box "Asset type", select "Tool".

In the box "Asset vendor", select "Desoutter".
In the pane "Tool properties":
Enter its IP address.
Select the last calibration date and enter the period between two calibrations in days.
Click this icon to save the asset.
Note that there is no asset programmed for the scanner as it is connected directly to Innity station.
2.2.2 - I/O module
Repeat the procedure to create the asset "I/O module".
In the pane "Common":
Enter its name "Nano".
In the box "Asset type", select "I/O Module".
In the box "Asset vendor", select "Desoutter".
Int the box "Model", enter "Nano".
In the pane "IO Module properties":
Select "Nano 6I/6O".
Click this icon to save the asset.
Both assets are now listed on the left side of the screen.

2.3 - Station
From CVI FUSION desktop, click the tile "Station manager".
Click this icon to create a project.
Type the name of the project "My_stations", enter a description and click "OK" to validate.

Click this icon.
Click this icon to create a station.
In the pane "Common", enter a name "Station A".
In the pane "Hardware", enter the IP address of the station.
For example:

Click this icon to save the station.
Click this icon to save the project.
Note that "Station A" is now listed in the pane "Stations" of the project "My_stations".
Click this icon.

Go to the pane "Linked les".
Click this icon to link the project "Asset".
Do the same to link the project le for users.
The result is as follows.
Go to the pane "Local Assets".

Note that in the box "Assets list", the project "My_assets" is present.
In the box "Assets", select the asset to link to this station and click "Add asset".
For a I/O module (Nano for example), select the zone where the module is located.
For example:

Click this icon to close the project.
2.4 - Process
Your job is to create the steps of the process into CVI FUSION.
Step Action Type of step to create
1 Scanning the barcode of the part "Action Data In"
2 Picking 4 bolts "Action Digital Picking"
3 Tightening the part "Action Tool"
4Confirming the job is done "Action Confirmation"
See below how the steps will look like once deployed to the station.

2.4.1 - Creating all steps
From CVI FUSION desktop, click the tile "Process manager"
Click the project "My_stations" you just created.
Note that the station "Station A" is present in the middle pane.
Go to the pane "Step properties" and click this icon to create a step.
Go to the pane "Common".
In the box "Step type", select "Action Data In".
Enter the name "Scanning the barcode".

Click this icon to save the step.
Repeat the procedure to create the other steps.
Select the step type... Enter the name...
For step 2 Action Digital Picking Picking 4 bolts
For step 3 Action Tool Tightening the part
For step 4 Action Confirmation Confirming job done
The result is as follows:
In the pane "Steps", click the rst step and drag it to "Station A".
Do the same for the other steps.
Click the middle pane "Stations".
Click this icon on the bottom to open a new pane.
Distribute the steps by dragging them in the correct pane as shown below.

Go to the "Process Manager" tile and open the project.
Click the step "Scanning the barcode".
Go to the pane "Step Properties" and click the pane "Action Data In Properties".
