OPERATING MANUAL – HOT-WIRE ANEMOMETER TA300 B - 6
You can change the unit of the measured value, e.g. °C
or °F, when calculating the temperature by pressing
the Unit Arrow button. After the necessary number
of measured values has been obtained, press the
(Mean) button; „Mean“ now begins to flash and the
calculated value is displayed. Press the (Mean)
button again to resume the measuring procedure.
Performing a mean value calculation over time
Press the mean button for approx. 2 sec. „Mean“
appears and you are now in the mode for calculating
a mean value over a period of time. The time display
(in mm.ss) necessary for this is located in the upper
half of the display. The measuring procedure begins
as described above in Multi-point mean value calcu-
lation with the air speed. To initiate the calculation
for temperature or volumetric flow, please press the
Flow/Temp button .
As soon as measurement begins, i.e. as soon as the
air speed sensor has been prepared for use (push the
sensor head cover downwards and set the marking
against the wind direction), the time measurement is
started by pressing the (Enter) button, thus initia-
ting the calculation of the mean value.
You can change the unit of the measured value, e.g.
°C or °F, when calculating the temperature by pres-
sing the Unit Arrow button. After the required peri-
od of time (you can interrupt and resume the measu-
rement procedure several times by pressing the
(Enter) button, press the (Mean) button; „Mean“
starts to flash and the calculated mean value is dis-
played. Press the (Mean) button again to resume
the measuring procedure.
Hold-Zero (freeze) function / freezing the measured
values on the display
Press (Hold/Zero) to freeze the values on the dis-
play. The word „HOLD“ appears.
Press (Flow/Temp) to switch between the tempe-
rature display and the display for the air speed and
the calculated volumetric flow rate. Press (Hold/
Zero) to release the value again.
Displaying the Max/Min values (maximum/minimum
value). Press (Max/Min) to switch from MAX (maxi-
mum value) to MIN (minimum value).
Battery replacement
Switch the appliance off. Remove the cover on the
back of the appliance. To do this, gently press the de-
pression provided towards your body until the cover
is released, then push the cover approx. 1 cm to the
rear while holding it at the side between thumb and
forefinger/middle finger and lift the cover off the bat-
tery compartment. Insert a new 9V battery. Replace
the cover on the compartment. To do this, follow the
procedure described above in the reverse order. The
appliance is now ready for operation once more.
07. Appliance probe
The probe of your hot-wire anemometer is a precise
measuring component and is very sensitive to dama-
ge. Therefore always protect the probe after comple-
tion of the measuring procedure by sliding the cover
upwards. This precautionary measure also guaran-
tees a respectable measurement if you want to begin
a new measuring procedure and have to set the zero.
The telescopic probe can be extended to a length of
approx. 1 m. You can therefore set the desired length
as described in item 6.
If you wish to make the probe smaller again,
do not do this by pushing the telescopic rod
together, but by pulling on the probe cable di-
rectly underneath the probe grip, where the
sensor cable is fed out, and in this way collap-
sing the probe like a telescope. Otherwise, the
telescopic probe cannot be collapsed properly
or the sensor cable may be destroyed when
doing so.
