mountingposition.TheTS1TiltSensorscanbe mountedinmanyorientationsaslongastheyareparallel
totheaxisbeingmeasured(Figure12).Locatesurfacesthatprotectthesensorfromphysicaldamageand

wheretheyaremounted.Sensorsmountedonthestick,boomandbucketaresingleaxis,andareonly
mountedinaleftorrightorientation.Thesensormountedonthebodyisdualaxis,andismounted
onlywithaleft,right,orflatorientation.
Wheninstallingthesensors,ensurethattheyaremountedparalleltotheaxisbeingmeasuredwith
thedirectionarrowpointingawayfromthecab(
Figure13).Locatesurfacesthatprotectthesensor
fromphysicaldamageandareconvenientforcablerouting.Whenthepositionoftheimplementisat
zerodegrees(horizontal),makeanoteofthedirectionofthearrowmarkerontheseriallabel(located

Theeasiestandmostaccuratelocationtomountthesensorisonthetopleftsideofthebucket
fromthecabperspective—withthearrowpointingforward(towardthedirectionoftravel).The
safest,butlessaccurate,locationtomountthesensorisontheleftsideofthedogbone;see“Dog
boneSensorMounting(Optional)”onpage12.
Whenmountingthebucketsensor,keepthefollowinginmind(Figure14):
Positionthebucketatzerodegreesbeforemountingthesensor.

Dog-bone Sensor Mounting (Optional)
Anoptionallocationforthebucketsensorisonthedogbone.Thislocationoffersadditional
protectionofthesensor,butproduceslessaccuratereadings(especiallyifthejointsareworn).If
possible,placingthesensorontheinsideofthedogbonewi ll provideadditionalprotection.
Mountingthesensoronthedogbonerequiresadditionalcalibrationsteps.
Theorienta tionofthedogbonemountedbucketsensormarkerisdeterminedwhenthedogboneis
horizontal(zerodegrees)asshowninFigure15.Orientationisselectedinthe
SensorCalibration
screenin
3DMC.
Therecommendedlocationofthesensorisontheleftsideofthedogbonewiththearrowpointing
forward,towardthedirectionoftra vel.
