WARNING:

b. Itistheuser’sresponsibilityforthedesignofadequateventing andinstallationofadequate vent
piping or directional flow after rupture occurs with the rupture disk as intended. When size is
specified,DyniscoLLCassumesthatadequateprovisionshavebeenmadebythepurchaserand/or
userforproperventingofasystemtorelievethespecificpressure.Locatetherupturediskwhere
peopleorpropertywillnotbeexposedtothesystemdischargeintheeventofrupture.Venttoxicor
flammablefumestoasafelocationtopreventpersonnelinjuryorpropertydamage.
c. Itis the user’s responsibilitytospecifythe burst pressureratingatthecoincidenttemperatureat
which the rupture disk is to be used. A rupture disk is a temperature sensitive device. The burst
pressureoftherupturediskisdirectlyaffectedbyitsexposuretothecoincidenttemperature.Failure
toutilizearupturediskatthespecifiedcoincidenttemperaturecouldcauseprematurefailureorover
pressurizationofthesystem.
d. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the burst plug snout length and temperature are
appropriate so that after a rupture disk failure, molten plastic/media flows continually out of the
snout.Failuretodosocouldresultinpolymer/mediasolidifyinginthesnoutandoverpressurizing
ofthesystem.
Itisrecommendedthattheuserinstallandpressurizeasampleburstplugtoburstintheirsystem
toconfirmbytestthattheburstplugfunctionscorrectlyintheirparticularapplication.
e. Particlesmaydischargewhentherupturediskruptures.Theseparticlesmaybepartoftherupture
diskitself,orotherenvironmentalmatterinthesystem.Itistheuser’sresponsibilitytoensurethat
theparticlesaredirectedtoasafeareatopreventpersonnelinjuryorpropertydamage.
f. Rupturediskservicelifeisaffectedbycorrosion,creepandfatigue, and physical damage. These
conditionswillderatetherupturedisktoalowerpressure.Theusershouldbepreparedtohandlea
prematurefailureoftherupturedisk.Themediaorotherenvironmentalconditionsshouldnotallow
foranybuild‐uporsolidificationofmediaontherupturedisk.Thismayincreasetheburstratingof
therupturedisk.
g. Dyniscorupture disks,wheninstalled correctly,willprovide averygood sealforliquidsand most
gasesorvapors.However,Dyniscocannotguaranteetheleakagerateofthedisksealwithoutprior
knowledge of the requirements and details of the piping layout.ConsultDyniscoforguidanceif
leakageiscriticaltotheinstallation.
h. Thecustomerand/oritsinstallershallberesponsiblefortheproperinstallationofrupturediskdevice
intoasystem.Recommendedtorquevaluesdonotconsiderpipingstressoralignment.
i. Customersand/oritsinstallersshallberesponsibleforimproperinstallation andphysicaldamage
resultingtherefrom,including,butnotlimitedto,damageresultingfromleakage,impropertorquing,
and/orfailuretofollowinstallationinstructions.
