3 Installation
3.1 Preparation
3.1.1 Preparation before Installation
Make sure the place where the Camera is to be installed has enough space to hold the Camera
and its mounting accessories.
Make sure that the Camera is in good condition before installation. Avoid exposing the Camera
to vibrations caused by non-standard transportation, which can result in damage causing second
detachment.
Before installation, make sure the installation environment is clear of liquid sources, otherwise,
the Camera might become soaked and damaged. After installation, make sure the Camera can
operate without interference.
Make sure the bracket is sturdy and stable to prevent deformation during long-term use. If the
Camera is installed in high towers, we recommend all the screw holes to be secured with 2 nuts
and spring washers to ensure stability. Otherwise, the device might not be in a horizontal level
caused by the tower shaking. Optional screws and nuts need to be made of stainless steel.
The tower where the Camera is to be installed needs an installation and maintenance platform
for easy installation and maintenance. The tower needs to conform to the current industrial
standard, regulations and relevant acceptance criteria.
Do not aim the lenses at intense radiation sources (such as the sun, molten steel or heat source).
Installation at height must be carried out by people that are lightning protection qualified. The
construction requirements must also comply with lightning protection specifications.
Lightning-proof protection needs to be set between the power adapter and the Camera.
We recommend you use a UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) that is frost-proof when installing the
Camera in a cryogenic environment that is below 10 °C (14 °F).
The cables must not be exposed, and need to be protected with wiring conduit, such as
galvanized tube and metal hose.
Make sure to install the waterproof connector to the cable port. The most frequently-used
waterproof method is to secure it with electrical tape and then wrap waterproof tape around the
port to avoid water seeping in. These two kinds of tapes must be branded to ensure a long
service life and avoid circuitry oxidation and water seeping in.
After installation, the protection film on the font cover of the Camera lens and the visible light
lens need to be revealed.
Installation and detachment of the Camera needs to be done by professionals. The Camera needs
to be protected from collision to avoid damages. The Camera needs to be tied up firmly during
lifting, in case that the Camera turns over.

Other Signal Cable
For all other signal cables (such as audio, alarm input and output, and RS-485), we recommend you
use wires that have a diameter of 0.56 mm (24AWG) and above as the signal cables.
7
3.2 Installation Procedure
The following conditions need to be met for installation of the Camera:
The hole size and location in the mounting platform should match those in the PTZ base.
We recommend attaching it to a mounting platform that can carry a weight of more than 1T.
The Camera cannot be installed in an unstable environment.
Make sure all the mounting screws on the Camera are firmly tightened; otherwise it will influence
the elements of the Camera, such as the PTZ rotation accuracy, wind-resistance capability,
waterproof performance, and PTZ service life.
More than 3 people are needed to install the Camera. Make sure to protect the lens during
installation.
The Camera must not be powered on before it is attached to the mounting platform. Otherwise,
the Camera might turn over, causing the lens to be damaged during the powering on self-test
procedure of the Camera.
Step 1 Install the housing onto the PTZ.
1. Loosen the housing bracket with the provided hex wrench, and then remove the
housing bracket.
2. Fix the housing bracket onto the bottom of the housing with the provided M8 × 20
inner hex combination screws.
3. Fix the housing onto the PTZ according to the arrow direction, and then firmly tighten
the fixing screws back into the housing bracket with the inner hex wrench. Firmly
tighten the screws. For instructions on the arrow direction, see Figure 2-1.
The Front sign is marked on the side of the PTZ. The housing mounting direction needs
to be in accordance with the arrow direction. Do not install it in a reversed position.
4. Remove the glass protection cover after installation is complete.
5. Connect the PTZ aviation connector to the housing, and then firmly tighten it.
The PTZ aviation connector and housing aviation connector are marked with red lines.
Align the red lines, and counterclockwise rotate the rotating ring on the aviation
connector until you hear a click sound. Check the aviation connector and make sure it is
well connected.
8
Figure 3-1 Fix the housing onto the PTZ
Step 2 Carry the Camera to the mounting platform, and tighten the screws into the PTZ to firmly
attach the PTZ to the mounting platform. Please check the horizontal calibrator on the PTZ
base when attaching the Camera, and make sure the bubble is still in the middle.
Figure 3-2 Attach the Camera to the mounting platform
Step 3 Connect Device cables.
1. Connect all the corresponding cables such as the power, video output, RS-485 control
and alarm input and output cables correctly as required. Use insulation tape to twine
around each connector to make sure them are waterproof.
The video port is covered with a heat-shrinkable tube that has a high shrinkage
ratio. The tube needs to be heated and shrunk on both sides after the video port is
connected. This is to ensure the video port is moistureproof and waterproof.
We recommend adding anti-corrosion methods to the tail circuit, such as the
junction box.
We recommend the grounding hole be grounded to enhance device reliability.
2. Install the waterproof connector to the network port. For details, see"3.3 Installing
Waterproof Connector".
3. Extend the device cable according to the actual construction requirements.
