Enroll, delete, or reset an Alarm.com Temperature Sensor (ADC-S40-T)
The Alarm.com Temperature Sensor (ADC-S40-T) can be enrolled into or deleted from a Z-Wave network following the
instructions below.
For more information about installing an Alarm.com Temperature Sensor (ADC-S40-T), see Alarm.com Temperature
Sensor (ADC-S40-T) - Installation Guide.
To enroll the Alarm.com Temperature Sensor (ADC-S40-T)
As a SmartStart device:
It is recommended to enroll this device as a SmartStart device to eliminate the need to put Z-Wave controllers into Add
Mode or to trigger devices (as is the case when enrolling non-SmartStart S2 devices).
For information about SmartStart compatibility and the enrollment process, see Add or remove a Z-Wave SmartStart-
enabled device.
As an S2 device:
If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart-compatible, it is recommended to enroll this device as an S2 device for
enhanced security and encryption features.
For information about this process, see Add an S2-encrypted Z-Wave device.
As an S0 device:
If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart or S2-compatible, this device can be enrolled in the traditional way as an S0
device.
1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Add mode.
2. Remove the battery tab from the sensor. When the LED on the sensor turns solid, the sensor has been
successfully added.
Note: If the battery tab has previously been removed, slide the device open to enroll the sensor. When the LED on
the sensor turns solid, the sensor has been successfully added.
