Notes on speaker use
You can damage your speakers and shorten their useful life if you play sound at high
levels over extended periods.
Reduce the volume in the following cases to avoid damage:
–When playing distorted sound.
–When the speakers are reverberating due to a record player, noise from FM
broadcasts, or continuous signals from an oscillator, test disc, or electronic instrument.
–When adjusting the sound quality.
–When turning the unit on or off.
If irregular coloring occurs on your television
The supplied speakers are designed to be used close to a television, but the picture
may be affected with some televisions and setup combinations.
If this occurs, turn the television off for about 30 minutes.
The television’s demagnetizing function should correct the problem. If it persists, move
the speakers further away from the television.

Connecting to a TV with an HDMI (High Defi nition Multimedia Interface) terminal
HDMI is the next-generation interface for digital devices. When connected to an HDMI compatible unit, an uncompressed digital audio and video
signal is transmitted. You can enjoy high quality, digital video and audio with just one cord. When connecting to an HDMI-compatible HDTV (High
Defi nition Television), the output can be switched to 1080i or 720p HD video.
When using this connection, it is not necessary to connect with the Video cable, S video cable or Component video cable shown on pages 6–8.
For units compatible with HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) copyright protection that are equipped with a digital DVI input
terminal (PC monitors, etc.):
Depending on the unit, images may not display properly or at all when connecting with a DVI/HDMI switching cable. (Audio cannot be output.)
Please use an HDMI cable that has the HDMI logo (as shown on the cover ).

You can attach all of the speakers (except subwoofer) to a wall.
The wall or pillar on which the speakers are to be attached
should be capable of supporting more than 15 kg (33 lbs) for the
front speaker and more than 10 kg (22 lbs) for the surround or
the center speaker. Consult a qualifi ed building contractor when
attaching the speakers to a wall. Improper attachment may result
in damage to the wall and speakers.
When mounting the front speakers to a wall, we recommend
using a string (not included) to prevent it from falling ( page 3).
Drive a screw (not included) into the wall.
Fit the speaker securely onto the screw(s)
with the hole(s).
(Except front speakers)
Ensure the stands meet these conditions before purchasing them.
Note the diameter and length of the screws and the distance
between screws as shown in the diagram.
The stands must be able to support over 10 kg (22 lbs).
The stands must be stable even if the speakers are in a high
position.
