optimal performance and latest features, you are highly recommended to upgrade the firmware of
your device.
You can upgrade the firmware
(A) through Philips online services, OR
(B) through a downloaded firmware file
Procedure:
Step 1: Check whether there is new firmware:
1. Connect the device to the Internet.
2. On the Home screen, go to [Settings] > [About tablet].
3. Select [System updates] > [Upgrade].
The device checks for firmware updates and displays the
firmware information.
4. Compare the firmware version displayed to the latest version. If the firmware version
displayed is of an earlier version than the latest release, proceed to Step 2.
Otherwise, the latest firmware is installed and hence an upgrade is not needed.
Step 2: Upgrade the firmware
- Choose Step 2A or 2B to proceed
Step 2A: Upgrade the firmware through Philips online services
Preparation:
Make sure your device is more than 75% charged.
Make sure your device has Internet access.
Upgrade the firmware:
1. On the Home screen, go to [Settings] > [About tablet].
2. Select [System updates] > [Upgrade].
3. The device starts to check for firmware update.
4. The device would automatically download and install the new firmware.

Step 2B: Upgrade the firmware through a downloaded firmware file
Preparation:
Make sure your device is more than 75% charged.
Make sure your computer has Internet access.
Make sure there is no memory card (such as micro SD card) inserted to the device.
1. Download firmware file to the computer
Click on the Download icon at the top of the screen to download the new firmware package to
your computer.
2. Transfer the file from the computer to the device
- Connect the device to the computer using the USB cable.
- Copy and paste the firmware file (zipped filename: update.zip) from the computer to the
root directory of the internet memory of the device.
- Unplug the USB cable from the device.
- Wait a few seconds and a upgrade message will be pop up for confirmation.
3. Upgrade the firmware
- When the message “An update.zip is detected from your Device Storage. Do you want to
have this update?” is displayed; select your option to proceed.
- When the upgrading is completed, the device restarts automatically. It will take a few
minutes for the upgrade processing.
