the type of hazard.
DANGER indicates a hazard which, if not avoided, will
result in death or serious injury.
WARNING indicates a hazard which, if not avoided,
could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION indicates a hazard which, if not avoided,
could result in minor or moderate injury.
NOTICE indicates an action that could result in damage to
the product.

WARNING
Thrown Objects Hazard
Do not open the cover while the blades are turning.
Check the collection system to make sure it is bolted
tightly to the unit.
Collector bags are subject to deterioration and wear
during normal use. Inspect the bag periodically for
tears, holes, or weak spots and replace with a new bag
that meets manufacturer’s durability standards.
DANGER
Loss of Control, Roll-over and Tipping Hazard
Use reduced speed on uneven ground and when
turning corners.
Reduce loads on hillsides. It is recommended that the
collection system be kept only half full when mowing
any slope. Start mowing on slopes when the collection
system is empty.
Mow up and down the face of slopes; never across the
face of any slope.
Never operate on slopes greater than 17.6% (10°).
Select a slow ground speed before driving onto a slope.
Avoid using brakes to control speed.
Use caution when changing directions and DO NOT
start or stop the tractor while on a slope.
Safety Decals - Triple Collector
Before operating the grass catcher, read and understand the
installed safety decals. The decals are provided to help you
avoid personal injury or damage to the product.
If any safety decals become damaged or illegible, order
replacements from your local authorized dealer. See Figure1.

General Instructions for the Grass Collectors
WARNING
Disengage the electric clutch (PTO). Shut off the engine,
remove the key, and wait for all moving parts to stop before
attaching, adjusting, or disconnecting any part of the
collection system.
ALWAYS shut off the tractor, disengage the PTO, and allow
all moving parts to stop BEFORE disconnecting or clearing
the tube, or emptying the collector bags.
To reduce fire hazard, keep the engine, tractor and mower
free of grass, leaves, or excess grease. Do not stop or park
tractor over dry leaves, grass, or combustible materials.
Mowing with the Grass Collector
Always operate the riding mower with the throttle at full
speed.
If grass is long, slow the ground speed and cut half the width
of the mower to prevent blockage. Another method is to cut
once with the deck in a high setting and then cut again with
the deck in a low setting.
Do not open the cover with the mower engaged.
If a large amount of cut grass ejects from the bottom of the
deck, the tube may be blocked or the bags may be full. Stop
the rider, disengage the PTO, stop the engine and then empty
grass collector or remove the blockage from the tube.
Before Operation
Remove all the sticks, stones, or other debris, which can get
caught or thrown by the mower blade.
For best results, mow when the grass is dry. Wet grass can
clump and block the mower and the grass collector.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN MOWING, make sure the bottom of
the mower and the bottom of the cover assembly are clear of
grass and debris.
For satisfactory grass collection, air circulation from the
mower deck, through the chute, and into the grass collector is
very important.
Make sure there are tight connections between the mower
deck, turbo housing, tubes, and the cover assembly.
Recommended Accessories
Use front counterweights when operating on slopes with a
rear attachment installed. For operation on slopes over 15%
(8.5°), two rear wheel weights can be added.
Remove the Grass Collector
WARNING
When operating without the grass collector and turbo, the
mower deflector MUST be installed in the down position
and retained with the spring latch (see the Turbo Operator’s
Manual).
1. Lift up the cover assembly (R, Figure26). Remove and
the collector bags (Q).
2. Unhook the strap (a) from the pin (b). Remove the middle
tube assembly and the upper tube (V and W) from the
bagging boot assembly (U) and the cover assembly.
3. Remove the mounting strap hook (c). Rotate the latch (d)
from the hardware assembly (e) and remove the bagging
boot assembly (U). Put the discharge chute (f) to the
down position.
26
4. Remove the hair pins (T, Figure27) from the cover hinge
pins (S). Remove the cover assembly (R).
5. Remove the upright support assembly (M) from the rear
of tractor.

Storage
Storing the Grass Collector
Clean the grass collector thoroughly using a mild detergent
(other products may damage the discharge tube). Remove
any debris from the screen on the underside of the lid. The
screen can be partially removed for easier cleaning.
If paint has been scratched on metal parts, touch up with
paint, or apply a thin film of oil to prevent corrosion.
Store in a dry area. Hang the grass collector and collector
bags to dry thoroughly before storing for a long period of time.
Always store away from moisture.
