Surveyor MKII Analog PTZ Dome
General Information
The information in this manual covers the installation and operation of the
Surveyor MKII Analog PTZ Dome.
Note
Read all instructions before beginning any installation.
The Surveyor MKII Analog PTZ Dome is a compact intelligent dome
comprised of a camera/lens and pan/tilt drive, receiver and CPU-based
electronics all in an attractive covert enclosure. It is available in an outdoor or
pressurized housing for pendant mounting.
The Surveyor MKII Analog PTZ Dome provides video transmission over
coaxial cable. It can be used with Vicon’s Valerus and ViconNet or other
Video Management Systems (VMS) via a compatible encoder.
The Surveyor MKII Analog PTZ Dome is designed for easy installation and
serviceability. The entire drive assembly simply snaps into the housing.
When removed, the mechanism retains all programmed functions in its on-
board memory. The customer interface board snaps down for easy access
and the PCB provides removable terminal blocks for simple wiring
connections. The camera dome offers variable speed with stepping motors,
continuous rotation and preset positions.
The Surveyor MKII Analog PTZ Dome includes a progressive scan day/night
camera with 36X optical and 12X digital zoom camera, wide dynamic range
(WDR) and electronic image stabilization (EIS). Camera image settings are
configured via a user-friendly menu system.
For programming, refer to the most recent version of User Manual. The
Surveyor MKII Dome is compatible with the SVFT-UWM and SVFT-WM Wall
Mounts, SVFT-URM-1 Roof Mount, and SVFT-UPM-1 Parapet Mount.
Surveyor MKII meets requirements for an FCC Class A computing device
and is CE compliant. Surveyor MKII complies with the fire code of certain
local municipalities. The fire code for any given municipality should be
verified for Surveyor MKII’s compliance at the installation site.
The electronic components within the Surveyor MKII are sensitive to damage
from ESD (Electro-Static Discharge). Appropriate precautions and proper use
of a ground strap should be observed at all times when handling the unit or
its subassemblies.
