B.Avoidbodycontactwithearthedorgroundedsurfaces

andoff.Anypowertoolthatcannotbecontrolledwiththe

C.Disconnecttheplugfromthepowersourceand/orthe
batterypackfromthepowertoolbeforemakingany
adjustments,changingaccessories,orstoringpower
tools.Suchpreventivesafetymeasuresreducetheriskof
startingthepowertoolaccidentally.
D.Storeidlepowertoolsoutofthereachofchildrenanddo
notallowpersonsunfamiliarwiththepowertoolorthese
instructionstooperatethepowertool.Powertoolsare

manufacturer.Achargerthatissuitableforonetypeof
batterypackmaycreateariskofrewhenusedwithanother
batterypack.
B.Usepowertoolsonlywithspecicallydesignatedbattery
packs.Useanyotherbatterypacksmaycreateariskofinjury
andre.
C.Whenbatterypackisnotinuse,keepitawayfromthe
othermetalobjects,likepaperclips,coins,keys,nails,
screws,orothersmallmetalobjectsthatcanmakea
connectionfromoneterminaltoanother.Shortingthe
batteryterminalstogethermaycauseburnsorare.
D.Underabusiveconditions,liquidmaybeejectedfromthe
battery;avoidcontact.Ifcontactaccidentallyoccurs,
ushwithwater.Ifliquidcontactseyes,additionallyseek
medicalhelp.Liquidejectedfromthebatterymaycause
irritationorburns.
E.Chargingtimewillbeincreasedifthebatteryischargedwhen
thetemperatureisnotbetween41to104degreesF(5to40

6.Service

Standsothatyouarestableandbalancedonbothfeet.Donot
overreach.
Inspectandcleartheareaofanyhiddenobjects.
Neverusethehedgetrimmernearpowerlines,fencing,posts,
buildings,orotherimmovableobjects.
Neveruseabladeafterhittingahardobjectwithoutrstinspecting
itfordamage.Donotuseifanydamageisdetected.
Nevertouchbladesorserviceunitwiththepowersupply
connected.
Donotforcethehedgetrimmerthroughheavyshrubbery.This
cancausethebladestobindandslowdown.Ifthebladesslow
down,reducethepace.
Donotattempttocutstemsortwigsthatarelargerthan9/16in.,
orthoseobviouslytoolargetofeedintothecuttingblade.Usea
non-poweredhandsaworpruningsawtotrimlargestems.
Ifbladesdobecomejammed,stopthemotor,allowtheblades
tostop,andremovethebatterybeforeattemptingtoremovethe
obstruction.
Ifdesired,youcanuseastringtohelpcutyourhedgelevel.
Decidehowhighyouwantthehedge.Stretchapieceofstring
alongthehedgeatthedesiredheight.Trimthehedgejustabove
theguidelineofstring.
Trimthesideofahedgesothatitwillbeslightlynarroweratthe
top.Moreofthehedgewillbeexposedwhenshapedthisway,and
itwillbemoreuniform.
Weargloveswhentrimmingthornyorpricklygrowth.When
trimmingnewgrowth,useawidesweepingaction,sothatthe
stemsarefeddirectlyintothecuttingblade.Oldergrowthwill
havethickerstemsandwillbetrimmedeasiestbyusingasawing
movement.

Maintenance
OilingtheTrimmerBlade
Note:Thetrimmerbladeshouldbeoiledbeforeandaftereachuse.
1.Stopthemotorandremovethebattery.
2.Cleandirtanddebrisfromthebodyofthehedgetrimmer,usinga
dampclothwithamilddetergent.
Note:Donotuseanystrongdetergentsontheplastichousingor
thehandle.Theycanbedamagedbycertainaromaticoilssuchas
pineandlemon,andbysolventssuchaskerosene.
3.Laythehedgetrimmeronaatsurface.Applylightweight
machineoilalongtheedgeofthetopblade.Ifyouwillbeusing
thehedgetrimmerforanextendedperiodoftime,itisadvisableto
oilthebladeduringuse.
Note:Donotoilwhilethehedgetrimmerisrunning.
