anotherbatterypack.

batterypacks.Useanyotherbatterypacksmaycreate
ariskofinjuryandre.
C.Whenbatterypackisnotinuse,keepitawayfrom
theothermetalobjects,likepaperclips,coins,
keys,nails,screws,orothersmallmetalobjects
thatcanmakeaconnectionfromoneterminalto

sweepingactionfromsidetoside.
•Standsothatyouarestableandbalancedonbothfeet.Do
notoverreach.
•Inspectandcleartheareaofanyhiddenobjects.
•Neverusethehedgetrimmernearpowerlines,fencing,
posts,buildings,orotherimmovableobjects.
•Neveruseabladeafterhittingahardobjectwithoutrst
inspectingitfordamage.Donotuseifyoudetectany
damage.
•Nevertouchthebladesorservicethisappliancewiththe
powersupplyconnected.
•Donotforcethehedgetrimmerthroughheavyshrubbery.
Thiscancausethebladestobindandslowdown.Ifthe
bladesslowdown,reducethepace.
•Donotattempttocutstemsortwigsthatarelargerthan16
mm(5/8inch),orthoseobviouslytoolargetofeedintothe
cuttingblade.Useanon-poweredhandsaworpruningsaw
totrimlargestems.
•Ifbladesbecomejammed,stopthemotor,allowtheblades
tostop,andremovethebatterybeforeattemptingtoremove
theobstruction.
•Ifdesired,youcanuseastringtohelpcutyourhedgelevel.
Decidehowhighyouwantthehedge.Stretchapieceof
stringalongthehedgeatthedesiredheight.Trimthehedge
justabovetheguidelineofstring.
•Trimthesideofahedgesothatitisslightlynarroweratthe
top.Y ouexposemoreofthehedgewhenyoushapeitthis
way,andthehedgewillappearmoreuniform.
•Weargloveswhentrimmingthornyorpricklygrowth.When
trimmingnewgrowth,useawidesweepingaction,sothatthe
stemsarefeddirectlyintothecuttingblade.Oldergrowth
willhavethickerstemsandmosteasilytrimmedbyusinga
sawingmovement.
Maintenance

Note:Thetrimmerbladeshouldbeoiledbeforeandafter
eachuse.
1.Stopthemotorandremovethebattery.
2.Cleandirtanddebrisfromthebodyofthehedgetrimmer,
usingadampclothwithamilddetergent.
Note:Donotuseanystrongdetergentsontheplastic
housingorthehandle.Certainaromaticoilssuchas
pineandlemon,andbysolventssuchaskerosenecan
damageplasticparts.
3.Laythehedgetrimmeronaatsurface.Applylightweight
machineoilalongtheedgeofthetopblade.Ifyouwillbe
usingthehedgetrimmerforanextendedperiodoftime,itis
advisabletooilthebladeduringuse.
Note:Donotoiltheappliancewhileitisrunning.
