Managing Software and Firmware updates for the ConvergedSystem 300
for Vertica
The HP ConvergedSystem 300 for Vertica is an integrated solution with specific software and firmware versions, qualified at
time of delivery. The HP ConvergedSystem 300 for Vertica is designed for solution level support across all components
within the Appliance. Unless in response to a support case as instructed to by the HP Customer Response Center, you will
not need to update the software and firmware versions within the solution until the support window expires. The software
firmware compatibility matrix was created based on the software versions defined at the time of manufacture.
The HP Customer Response Center may instruct you to apply specific hot fixes to address potential issues. Hot fixes are
supported as part of the solution level support criteria for the HP ConvergedSystem 300 for Vertica solution.
Before updating any software or firmware versions, contact the HP Customer Response Center at 1-800-325-5372 to verify
the compatibility of the updates. Any firmware or software updates applied, which are later than the compatibility listing,
will change the solution level support experience and must be accepted by the HP Customer Response Center.
Firmware Requirements
Unless otherwise specified, the components below apply to HP ConvergedSystem 300 for Vertica Appliance.
This section outlines specific firmware and software requirements for the Appliance.
HP Firmware, Driver, and Software Support Recipe – CS300 for Vertica v1.0
HP Integrated Lights-Out 4
At the time of release HP ConvergedSystem 300 for Vertica was tested and configured with HP Integrated Lights-Out 4
(iLO4) firmware v1.32. Systems being built for delivery should be in compliance with this version.
HP Network Switches
At the time of release HP ConvergedSystem 300 for Vertica was tested and configured with the latest firmware version
available at that time. Systems being built for delivery should be in compliance with the following firmware release.
• HP Network Switch – Model 5900AF-48XGT-4QSFP – Version R2307

Refer to the firmware release notes for instructions on upgrading the firmware. Downloading firmware updates to the
network switches via serial port can take a long time. Utilizing the network is a much faster option but requires a TFTP or
FTP server to retrieve the updated firmware file.
HP Intelligent Power Distribution Unit
At the time of release, HP ConvergedSystem 300 for Vertica solutions were tested and configured with the HP Intelligent
Power Distribution Unit firmware version 1.5. Systems being built for delivery should be in compliance with the following
firmware release:
• HP Intelligent PDU Firmware Update 1.6.6.12
