  • Hello! I've reviewed the Installation and Activation Guide for your Mediacom smart home devices, including the Smart Gateway (Automation Hub) and other devices like lightbulbs, door locks, thermostats, dimmers, video doorbells and cameras. This document provides instructions on connecting the Smart Gateway and using the Alarm.com app to pair devices. Connecting Your
Digital Home
INSTALLATION AND ACTIVATION GUIDE
Your smarter home is here! Before you begin installing
your new Digital Home equipment, please make sure to
read the email sent from Alarm.com containing your login
credentials and download the alarm.com app to your
smartphone or tablet. Then, follow the instructions as
outlined in this guide for the equipment you are installing.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
You will not be able to log in to your alarm.com account
until you install the Smart Gateway (Automation Hub).
Installing the
Smart Gateway (Automation Hub)Getting Started

1. Unbox the Smart Gateway which includes 1 Smart Gateway,
1 ethernet cable and 1 power cable.
2. Connect the ethernet cable into your WiFi360pro
eero device or Port 1 of your Internet cable modem.
Then plug into the Smart Gateway.
3. Plug the Smart Gateway into a power outlet.
4. Wait for activation; this may take up to 10 minutes.
5. After activation 4 lights will illuminate green on the Smart
Gateway: Power, Ethernet, Internet, and Wi-Fi lights.
6. Follow the login instructions in the Welcome Email
you received from Alarm.com.
7. Once logged in, you can begin installing your
Home Automation equipment.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
You will not be able to
log in to your alarm.com
account until you install
the Smart Gateway
(Automation Hub).

Adding Devices
via Alarm.com App
Adding devices is simple when using the Alarm.com app.
Step 1: Tap the menu icon.
Step 2: Tap ‘Add Device’.
Step 3: Select the type of device to pair
and pick the model from the list provided.

Installing a Smart Thermostat
1. Screw in Lightbulb.
2. Turn on Lightbulb.
3. Tap ‘Add Device’ on app.
4. Select “Lighting and Appliance Control”,
then select your Lightbulb from the list.
5. Follow the prompts on the app
to pair the device.
1. Plug the Dimmer into
a power outlet.
2. Tap ‘Add Device’ on app.
3. Select “Lighting and
Appliance Control,
then select Smart Plug-in
Dimmer from the list.
4. Follow the prompts on
the app to pair the device.
1. Install Lock into door as indicated in the enclosed instructions
(leave the lock cover off until after device pairing is completed).
2. Tap ‘Add Device’ on app.
3. Select “Lock, then select your Lock from the list.
4. Follow the prompts on the app to pair the device.
1. Tap ‘Add Device’ on app.
2. Select “Doorbell Camera”, then select
your Doorbell from the list.
3. Follow the instructions on the app
to install and pair the device.
1. Plug the Camera into power.
2. Tap ‘Add Device’ on app.
3. Select “Video Camera”, then
select your Camera from the list.
4. Follow the prompts on the app
to install and pair the device.
1. Install the Thermostat as indicated in the enclosed instructions.
2. Tap ‘Add Device’ on app.
3. Select “Thermostat”, then select your Thermostat from the list.
4. Follow the prompts on the app to pair the device.
*These features are not yet available in the app.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Do not create codes using the lock keypad. Code creation should be
completed via the app/portal under Users..
Adding and
Managing Devices
via Alarm.com
Add and manage all of your devices from alarm.com.
Step 1:
Go to Settings >
Manage Devices >
Click ‘Add Device’
button. Select the
type of device to pair
and pick the model
from the list provided.
Step 2:
Go to Automation to create Rules, Scenes and Schedules.
All Rules and Schedules will need setup via Alarm.com*.
