COURT LAYOUT
The ofcial pickleball court can be set up on any hard surface such as blacktop or concrete and should measure 20 feet wide by 44 feet long
with the net dividing the playing area in half. The net is set 36 inches high at each end and should measure approximately 34 inches high
at the center. There is a seven foot wide non-volley area on each side of the net. Players are not allowed to volley the ball in these area. The
remaining part of the court are marked as 10 feet wide by 15 feet long volley areas.
PLAYING THE GAME
The Serve
The server places one foot on the back baseline and hits the ball underhanded, diagonally over the net. On the rst serve of the game, the
rst team is allowed one fault (hitting the net with the ball or hitting the ball out of bounds). After the rst serve, faults are not allowed for either
team. The receiving team must let the ball bounce once before returning it.
Scoring
Only the serving team can score points, which are tailed when the opposing player hits from the non-volley area, hits the ball out of bounds or
hits the net with the ball. The serving team scores 1 point for each out by the opponent. The opponent gains the serve when the serving team
makes 3 outs. A game is played to 11 points, and a team must win by two points.
WARNING
Adult supervision is necessary whenever children are playing.
Being hit by a thrown object can result in a serious injury.
