OPERATING THE HINGED GLASS PANEL
Note: For products other than venting casement windows,
proceed to Step C.
A. Casement window with flat screen: Remove the flat screen
by unlatching the screen clips and pulling the screen to the
interior.
B. Casement window with Rolscreen: Unlock and open the
sash to 90° so that the hinged panel will not interfere with the
Rolscreen.
C. Locate the latch release(s) on a side or top of the hinged glass
panel. On large panels check the top and bottom for additional
latch releases.
D. Slide each latch release away from the corner(s) of the sash.
You will feel resistance at the latching points. Push past the
resistance. (On venting double-hung windows, slide the latch
release from the center toward one corner then back toward
the opposite corner.)
E. Return the latch releases to the original positions.

Note: Follow the steps in Instruction 1 to open the hinged glass panel.
Follow the steps in Instruction 2 to remove the grilles (if applicable).
REMOVAL
Note: Remove the two cardboard end caps and other packaging from
the blind/shade (if applicable), do not cut cords, shade cloth or
damage blinds.
A. Place the blind/shade in the full open position.
B. For shades 47” or wider only: Remove the shade support clip
located near the center of the shade mounting channel. Remove the
clip from the bottom of the mounting channel, then remove the clip
from the hinged glass panel.
C. Release the blind/shade from the mounting stud by pulling the
plastic tab.
D. Remove the blind/shade head rail from the drive gear and second
mounting stud by sliding it away from the operator side of the
hinged glass panel.
INSTALLATION
A. Make sure the shade operator handle is near the bottom
of the hinged glass panel. This allows for full travel of the
operator handle to raise or lower the blind/shade completely.
B. To install the blind/shade, slide the operator end of the top
rail over the mounting stud, while guiding the operator drive
into the drive gear. This end is labeled "A" on the top of the
head rail. It may be necessary to move the shade operator
handle up slightly to help align the gear.

C. Press the opposite end of the rail over the second mounting stud.
Note: Bottom-up cellular shades may appear to be too short for the unit. The shade will lengthen
after hanging in the down position for a few hours. If the shade does not hang straight, open
and close it completely two to three times.
D. For shades 47" or wider: Attach the shade support clip to
the top of the hinged glass panel near the center of the
hinged glass panel. However, if there is a grille that will be
attached at the center point, move the support to the left
or right of center. Next, lift up on the shade head rail, to
engage the clip.
Note: Follow the steps in Instruction 1 to open the hinged glass
panel. Follow the steps in Instruction 2 to remove the grilles
(if applicable).
REMOVAL
A. Slip the metal support clips off the hinged glass panel
frame.
B. Release the blind from the mounting stud by pulling the
head rail.
C. Remove the blind head rail from the drive gear and second
mounting stud by sliding it away from the operator side of
the hinged glass panel.
INSTALLATION
Note: Remove the plastic bands and foam pads from the blind (if applicable), do not cut cords or
damage the slats. With one hand, compress the blind while removing the banding and foam
pads, then remove the cord from the cardboard spool. Grasp the bottom rail, and gently pull
down until the bottom rail almost touches the bottom of the hinged glass panel.
A. Install the bottom rail retainers. (If the bottom rail retainers are already in place, proceed to
Step B.) Pull the tape from the “LH” retainer and place it approximately 1/4" from the left end of
the hinged glass panel bottom rail as shown. Repeat this process for the “RH” retainer, placing it
at the right end of the hinged glass panel bottom rail.
B. Check the location of the shade operator handle. Ensure that it is located at least 4" above or
below one of the hinged glass panel latches. This allows for sufficient travel of the operator
handle to tilt the blind completely.
