Personalization
Customize your phone
Customize your phone with wallpapers, widgets,
ringtones, and more.
 Tap > Settings > Personalize to access
customization options.
Choose what you want to change, such as display
or sound preferences.
Select from the options, and then tap Apply.
Manage Home screens
• To add widgets and shortcuts to Home screen
panels, tap > Settings > Personalize > Customize
home screen. Choose a widget, app or shortcut.
• To move or remove Home screen items, press and
hold and then drag the item to a new location or to
Remove at the top of the screen.
Get updates in HTC BlinkFeed™
Easily access content from popular websites and
social networks right on the Home screen.
In HTC BlinkFeed, swipe down to reveal the menu bar.
 Tap > Topics and services.
Swipe left or right to see the categories.
Tap the options that you want to show on the feed.

When you first turn on the phone, you’ll see the
AT&T Ready2Go wizard.
 Tap Get Started.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete
your phone setup.
Get started
• Press and hold the power button on the top panel to
turn the phone on or off.
• To lock, briefly press the power button.
• To unlock, press the power button, then pull the
lock up.

Setting up Your Phone
Insert the microSIM card
To eject the microSIM card tray,
insert the microSIM eject pin or
a small bent paperclip into the
small hole next to the tray.
Pull the microSIM card tray out,
and place the microSIM card into
the tray.
Insert the microSIM card tray
into its slot.
Charge the phone
Connect the USB cable to your
phone.
Plug in the power adapter to
an electrical outlet to start
charging.
Important: Please use the power
adapter and USB cable that came
in the box for optimum battery
performance.
Text Messaging
Send a text message
Open the Messages app.
 Tap to compose a new message
.
Enter a number or tap to browse your contacts.
Tap the Add text field to enter your message.
Tap to send. Or press to save the message as a
draft.
Attach a picture or video
While composing a text message, tap .
 Tap Picture or Video.
Tap Gallery to choose a picture or video from an
album, and then tap an item to attach it.
Tap to send.
AT&T Messages
View text messages, listen to voicemails, and reply
using your phone, tablet, or computer.
Tap > AT&T > Messages .
Enter your 10 digit mobile number

Follow the instructions to set up your account.
Please don’t text and drive.
Messaging rates apply.
Contacts and Phone Calls
Add a new contact
The Contacts app combines your contacts from
accounts like Google
®
, Facebook and Microsoft
®
Exchange ActiveSync
®
. You can manually add
contacts as well.
Open the Contacts app.
Tap
to add a new contact
.
In the Name field, enter the contact name.
Select the Contact type, for example Google
.
Enter the contact information.
 Tap Save.
Make a phone call
Open the Phone app.
Enter a phone number or tap a contact from the
matched suggestions.
Tap Call.
To hang up, tap End Call.
Check your voicemail messages
Open the Phone app.
Press and hold the number 1 key on the keypad.
Enter your passcode, if you use one.
Follow the voice prompts.
Touch Screen and Navigation
Navigate your phone
• Use your fingertip to lightly tap the screen and
select options.
• Use quick flicks of your finger to scroll up/down
and left/right.
• Back Key: Returns to previous screen.
• Home Key: Takes you to the main Home
screen.
• All Apps: Shows all your apps in one place.
• Feeds & widgets: Shows a stream of your
favorite content, as well as Home screen
widgets.
• Notifications bar: Shows you timely
information, like new messages, social network
notifications, missed calls, and calendar
reminders. Swipe down from the top of the
screen to expand the bar and see full details.

Internet
Browse the Web
Open the Internet app.
Slide two fingers apart to zoom in or together to
zoom out.
To visit another website, tap the address bar, enter
the web address, and then tap .
To open more browser windows, tap >
New Tab (or New Incognito Tab).
Use the Browser Bar
Access Facebook and news feeds, create
bookmarks, share content, and more.
• To reveal the Browser Bar, swipe up from the
bottom of the browser screen.
• To add a button shortcut, find and tap Add More on the Browser Bar
and select a choice or create one of your own.
• For more information, find tap Settings on the Browser Bar, and then
tap Tutorial. You can also disable the Browser Bar in Settings.
When your vehicle is in motion, automatically respond to incoming text
and email messages. Texting while driving...it can wait.
• Tap AT&T DriveMode in the app tray to open the app.
• To access settings or the menu options, turn AT&T DriveMode off.
AT&T DriveMode is free to AT&T customers. Standard data
and messaging rates apply to auto-reply messages.
Camera
Take a picture
Open the Camera app.
To zoom in and out, slide your finger on
the zoom bar.
 Tap to take the picture.
Record a video
Open the Camera app.
 Tap to start recording video.
Slide your finger on the zoom bar to
zoom in and out while recording.
To take a photo while recording, tap .
 Tap
to stop recording.
Send a picture or video*
Open the Gallery app.
Browse an album, and then tap a
picture or a video.
 Tap Share to share via HTC Share,
Bluetooth

, send by email, send as a
message, or upload to a social network.

Take an HTC Zoe photo
Open the Camera app.
On the Viewfinder screen, tap to switch HTC Zoe on.
 Tap to take an HTC Zoe photo.

Retouch an HTC Zoe photo
Open the Gallery app.
View the HTC Zoe photo you want to edit.
Drag the slider under the photo to
one of the moments captured in the
HTC Zoe photo.

Shot, Always Smile, Object Removal,

Music and Google Play™ Store
Listen to music
Open the Music app.
 Tap to browse a category, such as Artists
or Albums.
While browsing your music collection, tap a song to
play it.
Tap the onscreen icons to control music playback,
repeat songs, and more

Find and install an app
Google Play Store is the place to go to find a variety of
apps for your phone.
Open the Play Store app.
Browse by featured apps or by category, or search
for the app you want.
Tap the app to select it.
To download or purchase, tap Install (for free
apps) or the price button.
If you agree to the conditions, tap
Accept & download or Accept & buy.
A Google Wallet™ payment method is required to purchase an app. You need to associate a
valid credit card or debit card to your Google Wallet account to purchase an app.

Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Mobile Hotspot
Pair with another Bluetooth device
 Tap > Settings.
 Under Wireless & networks, turn on Bluetooth using the On/Off
option.
 Tap Bluetooth, and then tap Scan for devices.
Tap an available device to pair.
Connect to a Wi-Fi network
 Tap > Settings.
 Under Wireless & networks, turn on Wi-Fi using the On/Off option.
 Tap Wi-Fi, and then choose a Wi-Fi network to connect to (secured
networks require a passkey).
Share your connection (Tethering and Mobile Hotspot*)
• To use tethering, connect the device you want to tether to your phone
with a USB cable. Tap > Settings. Under Wireless & networks, tap
More > Mobile network sharing. Tap USB network setting, and then
select USB tethering.
• To enable a portable hotspot, tap > AT&T > Wi-Fi Hotspot. Set a
password, and tap Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
* Requires a minimum DataPro 5GB plan. Devices tethered or connected to your Mobile
Hotspot use data from your plan. Overage charges apply if the included monthly data
allowance is exceeded. Performance may vary depending on the number of devices
connected and other factors. To help minimize security risks, use the default security
settings and set a secure and unique password. If you do not enable password protection
others will be able to use your hotspot connection.
Network Notifications

Your 4G LTE
®
wireless device will indicate which of AT&T’s wireless
networks you are connected to. A network indicator does not necessarily
mean that you will experience any particular upload or download data
speeds.
Actual data upload and download speeds depend on various factors, including
