Associating 20DS to a Terminal
Power supply:
Only
use the PSU's supplied by Lucent Technologies.

Connect a PSU to each 20DS unit and switch on

WARNING:
You must ensure that the PSU's ventilation slots are not obstructed and
that there is clear space all around the PSU. Do not fit the PSU adjacent
to other PSU's as excessive heat may be generated.
Line cord:
Plug into both 20DS's and an INDeX phone socket.
Associating Terminal:
On each 20DS unit, use keys with solid green lamps to dial extension number of
associated terminal. Solid green lamp keys mimic keypad layout. All lamps on 20DS unit are extinguished if
number entered correctly. 20DS unit is ready to program.

Associating to Another Terminal:
Switch off 20DS power supply. Hold down any two DSS keys (different
columns) and reconnect power supply. Use keys with solid green lamps to dial extension number of new
associated terminal. Solid green lamp keys mimic keypad layout. All lamps on 20DS unit are extinguished if
number entered correctly. 20DS unit is ready to program.

Programming the 20DS
•
To program a DSS key with extension, group or line directory number:
PROGRAM, DSS key, <passcode of terminal>, <extension, line or group number>,
DONE and PROGRAM to finish.
•
To program a DSS key with a SPEED DIAL number:
PROGRAM, DSS key, <passcode of terminal>, SPEED DIAL, <number>, DONE and PROGRAM to finish.
•
To clear a programmed DSS key:
PROGRAM, DSS key, <passcode of terminal>, CANCEL, DONE and PROGRAM to finish.
BLF Lamp Status
•
Slow Red Flash:
A call on a line set under the key has been parked. To unpark the call press the DSS key.
•
Fast Red Flash:
Shows that the extension set under the key is ringing. To pickup the call press the DSS key.
•
Solid Red:
The extension, line or group set under the key is busy or not available (e.g. set to no calls with no divert
number set). Groups only show busy if all members are busy.
•
Slow Green Flash:
Shows a call parked by your phone. To unpark the call, press the DSS key.
•
Fast Green Flash:
Shows an external call ringing on a line. To answer the call, press the DSS key.
•
Solid Green:
Shows a call connected to your phone (or held by it).
•
Alternating Green/Red Lamp Signals:
Indicates a call to a Pilot number set under the DSS key.

To make an announced transfer:

Accepted call: ANSWER RELEASE
Unaccepted call: Press HOLD to return to caller.

To retrieve a parked/held call:
Press HOLD or the
DSS key beside slow green flashing lamp.
