ThewaythatLCMhandlesrequeststocreatevirtualmachinesdependsonhowtheLCMAdministratorhas
configuredtheapprovalprocess.Ifapprovalisrequired,anemailnotificationissenttotheLCMApprover
user.Ifapprovalisnotrequired,andthereisnoconflictwiththerequest,thevirtualmachine
iscreated.Ifthere
isaconflict,anLCMITStaffuserreceivesanemailnotificationthatavirtualmachineiswaitingtobecreated.
Afteravirtualmachinehasbeencreated,itcanbeuseduntilthedecommissioningdate.Fivedaysbeforethe
decommissioningdate,anemailnoticeissent
totheuserwhorequestedthevirtualmachineifemail
notificationsareenabled.Theusercandooneofthefollowing:
Requesttoextendthelifeofthemachine.
Iftheextensionisnotapproved,thevirtualmachineisdecommissionedandisarchivedordeleted.
