1. DESCRIPTION OF DEVICE
1.1 Intended use
Scale The seca 333 i electronic baby scale is mainly used in hospitals, medical prac-
tices and inpatient care facilities in accordance with national regulations.
The baby scale is for conventional determination of weight and establishment
of general state of nutrition; it assists the physician supervising treatment in
making a diagnosis or deciding on a course of treatment. To make an accu-
rate diagnosis, however, the physician needs to commission other specific
examinations and take their results into account, in addition to determining a
weight.
Measuring station In conjunction with measuring rods seca 234 and seca 232 n available as
options, baby scale seca 333 i serves as a measuring station. The measuring
station is for conventional determination of weight and length, establishment
of general state of nutrition and assists the physician supervising treatment in
making a diagnosis or deciding on a course of treatment. To make an accu-
rate diagnosis, however, the physician needs to commission other specific
examinations and take their results into account, in addition to determining
weight and length.
1.2 Description of function
Scale Weight is recorded using four load cells. The scale can be transported using
the carrying handle.

WARNING!
Injury from falling
Baby scales generally stand on raised work surfaces. If the baby falls
from this surface, this may result in serious irreversible or fatal injuries.
Ensure that the device is steady and level.
Route connecting cables (if present) in such a way that people
cannot trip over them.
Never leave a baby unsupervised.
Starting the weighing procedure NOTICE!
Incorrect measurement as a result of force shunt
Operation of the measuring rod affects the weight display of the scale.
Weight values which are displayed during a length measurement do
not correspond to the patient's actual weight.
Ensure that you do not touch the scale whilst weight is being
measured.
Only read off weight values before or after measuring length.
1. Ensure that there is no load on the scale.
2. Press the Start key.
