The VMM6 features 6 of Carling's Contura® rocker switches available in different styles. The VMM6
requires only a connection to an NMEA 2000® network to begin. Configure the VMM6 using Maretron
N2KAnalyzer® installed on a PC and an IPG100 or USB100 connected to the NMEA 2000® Network.
VMM6 transmits and receives NMEA 2000® PGN 127501. Each transmission of PGN 127501 reports
the state of all VMM6 switch positions every 15 seconds and each time a switch is pressed. Each VMM6
switch has two embedded LEDs that can be configured as a backlight or to show the state of an MPower
load controller ECB (Electronic Circuit Breaker) reported in a received 127501 PGN. Assigning VMM6
control of an ECB or multiple ECBs is configured within the MPower load controller(s) configuration while
assigning VMM6's LEDs operation is configured within the VMM6 unit's configuration.

VMM6 Application:
Apply the VMM6 unit to control any Maretron Load Controller device such as Maretron's CLMD16
orCLMD12 by connecting VMM6 to the same NMEA 2000® Network. The VMM6's Out of Box
Configurationallows for Toggle Operation of the first 6 or 7 (depending on part number) Electronic Circuit
Breakers onMaretron's CLMD16 and CLMD12 DC Load Controller Modules. This will only occur if the
CLMD16 orCLMD12 is on the same NMEA 2000® Network as VMM6 and also has a default Out of Box
Configuration.Please see the Out of Box Configuration details in this Quick Start Guide for information on
how theVMM6's default configuration will behave when a CLMD16 or CLMD12 is on the same network
with Out ofBox Configuration.
Note: Depending on desired switch control, default configuration may not work for your application
andcustom configuration will be needed using Maretron N2KAnalyzer®. Applying a CLMD16 and a
CLMD12containing default Out of Box Configurations or having two VMM6 units on the same
NMEA2000® networkforces the need for custom configuration.
