your product is ﬁtted safely and that it retains its high quality ﬁnish.

Before drilling, ensure there are no hidden cables or pipes in the wall.

Electrical Safety Information

HiB recommends that all electrical bathroom products should only be ﬁtted by a suitably

qualiﬁed, Part P registered electrician in accordance with current IEE regulations. Ensure mains

power supply is switched oﬀ before starting installation. Before drilling, ensure there are no

hidden cables or pipes in the wall.

Installation Instruction

This furniture lighting assembly is designed for all HiB Novum Furniture Wall Hung Units and Tall

Storage Units. HiB recommend that the lighting is either wired directly to the main bathroom circuit, or

alternatively wired in to a secondary circuit which can be switched independently. Please ensure that

the domestic mains electricity circuit to which the item is being connected to is isolated before

connection.

1. Ensure that the furniture unit is ﬁtted correctly in place. It may help if the drawer is removed

prior to the installation of the lighting component Fig 1.

2. Remove all packaging materials from around the furniture lighting components and lay them out on

a ﬂat surface, as per Fig 2.

3. Cut the LED lighting strip (Part A from Fig.2) to the required length using a sharp pair of scissors.

Take care to only cut the LED strip along the copper connections. Fig.3.

4. Determine where the LED will be applied (i.e at the back on the underside of the unit). Drill a 4mm

hole on the underside of the furniture unit carcass. Fig.4 part A.

5. Remove the red and black cable from the LED driver (take note which cable goes to each terminal)

and feed the cable through the 4mm hole just created. Fig.4 part A. Now reconnect the wire into

the driver inside the carcass to the same terminals.

6. When wired correclty, peel back the ﬁlm of the self-adhesive tape on the back of the LED lighting

strip and attach to the underside of the carcass. Fig.4 from Part B.

7. Once positioned correctly, peel back the ﬁlm of the self-adhesive tape on the back of the LED driver

and secure the LED driver. Take care that the positioning will not obstruct the operation of any

doors, drawer runners or the basin ﬁt. See Fig.5 part B.

8. Insert a small bead of silicone to the 4mm hole which the wire pass’s through Fig 5 part A

9. Ensure that the domestic mains electricity circuit to which the item is being connected to is

isolated before connection. Make the electrical connection between the domestic electric and

the LED driver, as per the wiring diagram Fig. 6.

10. When the wires have been correctly wired and insulated, return domestic power back to the

furniture unit. If installation has been successful, return and attach the drawer.

Cleaning

To preserve the high quality ﬁnish of your HiB product, please ensure you regard the following care

and cleaning recommendations:

• Wipe oﬀ all water spillages as soon as possible

• DO NOT USE any abrasives or solvents.

This product is IP44 - suitable for installation in zones:

All installations must comply with guidelines which are based on a zonal concept. The diagram above

illustrates this concept and must be followed to ensure the safe installation of electrical appliances in the

bathroom. These regulations apply to domestic installations only. Installations must be made in accordance

with the current IEE wiring regulations and relevant building regulations. HiB recommends that all electrical

bathroom products should only be ﬁtted by a suitably qualiﬁed, Part P registered electrician.
