How to Install OBD into the Vehicle
Note: Only GUARDINATOR VMS certified OBD device can be recognized and
activated.
Step #1: Take out the OBD( one QR code on the back). Note that this QRcode
contains encrypted serial numbers for both association and activation, please keep
it in a safe place.
Every serial number (activation code) can only be valid for one-time activation
and gets expired once the activation completed successfully. Resale or
re-activation is not supported.
Step #2: You can find the corresponding on-board diagnostics data port in your
vehicle. Most OBD port of vehicles are located in the lower left side of the
dashboard on the driver's side (above the driver's left leg). Some are located under
the steering wheel or above the brake pedal. Some cars have a lid that needs to be
opened. Others require an outward extension cord before they can be used. the
commonly used port can be found in the vehicle manual or you can google search
the right position. Normally it is a 16-pin port .Please note that the port is made
into special shapes in order to prevent wrong insertion. Please check the direction
before installation.
Step #3: Connect the OBD into the port of the vehicle according to the correct
direction and ensure that the connection is firm (loose or inadequate contact may
cause failure).Note: To use complete software application you must turn on the
Bluetooth on your mobile phone so that it can be connected to the OBD (at the
same time, please power on the vehicle).
Please remove the OBD from the port if the vehicle is not in use for more than 10
days to save the battery.
How to Install TP into the Vehicle
Each tire is equipped with an independent wireless sensor. Please install according
to the indication position of the sensor. Incorrect installation may result in failure or
misfunction.
You can also seek service from your vehicle maintenance service provider.
If the data cannot be read properly after installation, please drive the car for more
than 5 minutes to activate the data transition. (the current TP is with Low power
design and the sensor will not transmit data in real time without obvious tire
variance (< 1% ))
How to Activate OBD into GUARDINATOR
VMS
Open GUARDINATOR VMS, click <SETUP> tab on the bottom of the screen.
Click the red rectangle <SCAN TO ACTIVATE> on the top of the screen to associate

package box, please keep the card in a safe place. If lost, it will affect the activation
and use of the tire sensor.
Note: Each tire pressure serial number can only be activated by one mobile
phone. If the user changes the phone or resets the IMEI motherboard number,
it requires to order a new tire pressure Activation License.
GUARDINATOR VMS does not display valid values in the case of incorrect
installation of tire pressure equipment.
Tire Pressure Setting
According to the tire parameters of different manufacturers and the use scenarios,
users can define the upper and lower limits of tire pressure alarm.
TP will transmit the real time data when the change of tire pressure, temperature
and other data are monitored.
How to use GUARDINATOR VMS OBD DATA
functions
Once the OBD is valid and activated, you can start to use the functions:
Click <DATA> tab on the bottom of the screen.
Then Click <All Sensors>.
When the OBD device is connected, it will display the data and unit information of
each instruction supported by the current vehicle. Note: please make sure OBD
connection is valid and the vehicle is powered on. Sometime it will take a while for
OBD to communicate with the vehicle.
Due to the massive sensors in vehicle, it may need to scroll up and down the
interface to find the data information of instruction data item of relevant names.
When the name of the instruction data item is found, hold for 3 seconds, the
interface will automatically display the data of all instruction data items contained
in the current interface. If the vehicle is not equipped with the sensor or the sensor
is unreadable/not open, N/A will be displayed.
Live Data
Click <DATA> tab on the bottom of the screen.
Then Click <Live Data>.
After selecting a data item, when the vehicle is equipped with the corresponding
sensor and supports the instruction data item, it will display the data diagram as
below picture.
If the vehicle does not support data items selected by user, <Unsupported PID> or
<sensor N/A> will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
How to use GUARDINATOR VMS Dashboard
functions
Head Up Display
Open GUARDINATOR VMS, click <HUD> tab on the bottom of the screen.
Click <Head Up Display> as follows:
In order to correctly display the fuel consumption information of the vehicle's
current trip, please confirm that the displacement value is corrected and
corresponding to the vehicle when adding a new car in the app. Incorrect
displacement input will lead to variance of the calculation.
After entering the functionality, the HUD interface will start calculating the fuel
consumption taking it as the starting point of the trip.
HUD interface will display below information:
Instantaneous fuel consumption (it requires users to set correct engine
displacement information);
Current trip fuel consumption (it requires users to set correct engine
displacement information);
Average fuel consumption (it requires users to set correct engine
displacement information);
Engine speed (it requires users to install and activate OBD device);
Vehicle speed (it requires users to install and activate OBD device);
Tire Pressure (it requires to install and activate tire pressure device);
When the user installs and activates the tire pressure device in the current vehicle,
the information related to tire pressure will be displayed on the HUD interface,
which ensures that the user can understand the tire pressure condition while
driving through observing the HUD. It will improve driving safety.
Note: Fuel consumption simulation is for reference only due to the complexity and
variety of the sensors and calculation. Normally a 5% to 15% tolerance range can
be expected.
The green circle on the above picture indicates that the tire pressure at the current
position is normal. The tire in the upper right position needs to be inflated because
the tire pressure is less than the set value, so it will display Pump up to prompt the
user that the tire pressure in the upper right position is low and needs to be
inflated.
When there is a leaking tire, it will be displayed immediately in HUD mode and
warn the user with red “Leaking”. In the picture above, the left front tire, left rear
tire and right rear tire are leaking, the car needs to be stopped for further checking
to ensure driving safety.
If the tire pressure device is not correctly installed onto the vehicle, please refer to
the installation of tire pressure (TP).
If the tire pressure device is not activated, please refer to the activation of tire
pressure (TP).
This feature can project the HUD data displayed in App onto HUD hardware.
You can also scroll right or left to switch to different dashboard(not Available in
iPhone at this moment).
