SAFETY/INSTALLATION
SAFETY PRACTICES
Do not install, operate or service this product unless
you have read and followed the Safety Practices,
Warnings, Installation and Operating Instructions
contained in this manual. Failure to do so could
result in death or serious injury.
Place barricades around pit on dock floor and drive
while installing, maintaining or repairing.
Be certain to follow the installation instructions.
ELECTRICAL SHOCK POTENTIAL!! Do not attempt
to install, maintain or relamp without disconnecting
all power. Failure to disconnect power can result in
electrocution, shock or severe burns.
This fixture is designed for permanent installation in
ordinary (Non-Hazardous) locations in accordance
with the National Electrical Code and all applicable
local codes. Do not use in areas of limited ventilation
or in high ambient enclosures. The lamp and
fixture operate at high temperatures. Contact with
combustible materials can cause fire and personal
contact can cause severe burns.
This fixture must be plugged into an electrical supply
with a grounded receptacle.
Never use an incandescent type lamp over 150 Watts
or LED type lamp over 30 Watts. Using lamps of a
higher wattage than the fixture rating may cause
overheating and fire.
Risk of burns. Do not operate without wire guard.
Wire guards are UL required components. Replace
immediately if damaged or missing.
The installation and servicing of this product should
be performed by a qualified electrician or personnel.
Read and save these instructions. When using the
G-FLEX DOCKLIGHT™, basic safety precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire,
electrical shock and personal injury, including the fol-
lowing:
1. It is recommended that two hands are used for
positioning the neck and light head.
2. Unplug and allow to cool before replacing parts.
3. Use only with approved service parts.
4. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: Dry
Location Use.
This docklight is rated 120V, 50/60 Hz. Check electrical
service running to the installation area to assure it
agrees with the correct voltage and electrical load for
the G-FLEX DOCKLIGHT™.
For best operation, APS Resource recommends that
the docklight be mounted such that the exible arm is
oriented upward.
INSTALLATION
1. Select a sturdy mounting location suitable to
support the weight of the xture.
The docklight requires a 9" wide x 6" high at
surface for mounting the base of the light.
The docklight base should be mounted at
a height that allows a dock worker to easily
position the light xture into the trailer being
serviced. For typical applications, the
docklight base will be approximately 4 feet
above the dock oor.
The docklight base should be mounted as
close to the door opening as possible without
interfering with the operation of the door, or
any other equipment. A standoff bracket (P/N
AP6840) is included with the docklight, and
may be required for some applications.
