Navigating the menus



Press down the joystick " " to enter the main menu/sub menu.



Move the joystick " " up and down to review the function list.



Press down the joystick " " again to select ULTRA-MP3 functions.

1. Press down the joystick " " to see the main menu shows as below.



Power Off

Press Power " " Button again to turn it off.



Power on

1. Press Power " " button.

2. Turn to "power-on" mode in 3 seconds and LCD screen shows as below.(fig. a)

1.Group the selected music into different folders on your PC, and copy them to the

ULTRA-MP3.

2.Press down the joystick" " and scroll to File Explorer mode

3.Move the joystickup or down to select the device -- flash or MMC/SD card (in case the

MMC/SD card is inserted)

File Explorer provides an easy and quick way to find the track or the group of music to

listen to. It allows you to view tracks of your collection by title or file name on MP3

player.

4.Press down the joystick" " again to enter the root of the

device.

5.Move the joystick up or down to select a track or a folder

6.Press joystick to enter the selected folder and

you will see all tracks in this folder

7.Press Play button " " to play the selected track.

When ULTRA-MP3 is in File Explorer mode, it only plays the tracks in selected folder. If you

want to play all tracks in both flash memory and MMC/SD card, please quit File Explorer

mode.

1. Scroll to Voice Player.

2. Press Play button " " to start playing voice-recording files.



1. Scroll to FM radio and press down the joystick " " again to enter FM radio mode.

2. Search the channel by moving joystick " " left and right .

 Save Band

Selecting pre-set memory channel.

1. In FM Radio mode, press Play button " " .

2. Pre-set memory channel number (1-25) blinked.

3. Move the joystick " " left and right to select through pre-set memory channel

(No.1-25).

4. Set up selected pre-set memory channel by pressing Play button " " again.

Saving favorite FM stations in pre-set memory channels.

1. While completing pre-set channel selection.

2. In setting mode, select your favorite FM channel.

3. Press down the joystick " " and scroll to " Setting " scroll to " Save Band "

4. Press down the joystick " " again to save the FM station

in pre-set memory channel.

5. "Channel Setting" shows on the LCD while completed.

1. In FM Radio mode, press down the joystick " " and scroll to "Setting" to enter

"Auto Scan" function.

2. Start "Auto Scan" to define pre-set channels.

3. Make sure when proceeding with "Auto Scan", the headset is connected to the MP3

player (Headset works as the antenna when ULTRA-MP3 is in FM mode).

Browsing for Pre-set memory bands

1. In FM Radio mode, press Play button " " .

2. Move the joystick " " left and right to select through pre-set memory band

(No.1-25).

 Auto Scan

1. In setting mode, press down the joystick " " and scroll to Auto Scan.

2. Press down the joystick " " again to start channel searching.

3. Search for channels and auto-saved in pre-set memory bands.



Record

1.Press the center of joystick " " and then scroll to Record.

2.Press down the joystick " " and It starts to the voice recording.

3.Press the Play button " " to pause voice recording.

4.Press the Stop button " " to stop voice recording.

Setting

1. Scroll to Setting

2. Press down the joystick " " again to see sub menu as shown below.

 Equalizer

Scroll to different modes to experience sound effect in Normal/Classic/Pop/Rock/Jazz/Bass

mode.

 Repeat

1. Press down the joystick to see submenu frame shows as below.

2. Press the center of joystick " " to select a desired playback setting from

Normal , Repeat one, Repeat All, Shuffle and Shuf, Repeat.



Repeat A-B ( / )

1. In MP3 playing mode, press the Power button " " and Play Button " "

simultaneously.

2. Setting for the start of repeat part A is completed. " "

3. Press the Power button " " and Play Button " " simultaneously again.

4. Setting for the end of repeat part B is completed.

5. Both selected parts (A-B) play continuously.

6. Press the Power button " " and Play Button " " again to release.

Move the joystick " " left and right to adjust the brightness/contrast of the LCD

screen.



Move the joystick " " up and down to select time for backlight.

By preeing the center of joystick " " to select the backlight time.



 Format

1. Press down the joystick " " , "Format? Yes/No" shows on the LCD screen.

2. Move the joystick " " up for "Yes" and press down the joystick " " to format

3. Move the joystick " " down for "No" and press down the joystick " " to quit.



When using the format function,[Select]-[Erase]-[Format], ONLY files with a .mp3

extension will be erased



To erase all the files in the MP3 player, please plug mp3 player into PC and format

the removable disk drive which the mp3 player is mapping to.



If you cannot erase the files in mp3 player by selecting

[Setting]



[Erase]



[Erase] menu, please uncheck the file¡'s read-only attribution

in Windows and erase them again.



Power Saving

1. Press down the joystick " " to see submenu as shown below..

2. Press the center of joystick to select a desired time to turn off the ULTRA-MP3.

Strongly recommend to set the power saving mode to Disable mode.



Erase Function

 Erase one file

1. Press down the joystick " " ,"Erase one file" shows on the LCD screen.

2. Press the Play button " " to select "YES" to erase the file.

3. Press the Power button " " to quit.

Rec Bitrate

1. Press down the joystick " " to see submenu as shown below..

2.Press the center of joystick to select the compression rate which is between

8000Hz and 48000 Hz.

The lower the compression ratio the lower the quality of the audio records, so it's

suitable for long time recording, and vice versa.



Auto Power off Function

For power saving purpose, ULTRA-Mp3 turns to "power off" mode if under non-using

status and if the play " " button is not pressed for 60 seconds.

1. Insert the SD/MMC card to the card reader on the back of the Ultra MP3.

2. Move the joystick " " left and right to select MP3 files saved in SD/MMC card.

3. The icon " SD " shows on the LCD screen while reading SD/MMC card.

How to use USB Flash Drive?

1. Connect ULTRA-MP3 with PC USB port.

2. " USB Connect " icon shows on the LCD screen.

3. Double click on " My Computer ", two additional removable disks icons are added.



For windows 2000 user, please make sure to install Windows Service Pack3.



For Windows 98 user, please make sure to install the enclosed driver.

3.Find the [My Tools ] folder and double-click the [My Tools] icon.

4.Please doubled-click the [THMail.exe ] program to start the software.

5.Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed.



E-mail Function :

 Begin to use Software

1. Click[ My Computer ] and you will see that Windows has automatically assigned a

drive letter for every removable disk detected.

2. double-click the [ Removable Disk ].

A. SMTP Setting

1. Click on the SMTP tab

2. In the SMTP field the name of the outgoing e-mail server.

3. In the User field, type your account name.

4. In the Password field, type your password

5. In the Name field, type your name as you want it to appear to everyone who gets

e-mail from you.

6. In the Address field, type your full e-mail address and then Click " OK ".

2. Click on the POP3 tab

3. In the POP3 field, type the name of the incoming e-mail server.

4. In the User field, type your account name

5. In the Password field, type your password

6. Please check in the Check Leave Mail(s) in POP3

server box or you can check in the

Launch thmail.exe after device pluging box for your preference.



 Compose And Send Email

1. Click in the message area, and type your

message as shown below.

2. Click Send

 Check Your Email Account

1. Click "Check" Button.

2. Click the message you want to read and then click "Get Mail".

Button to download the mail you just select from the message list.

3. Click the message you want to delete from POP3 server and then click " "

Remove button.

4. Click the Recheck " "button to check POP3 mail server again.

 Create Address Book

1. Click [New] " " Button and then click

[ Address ] " " Button.

2. Click the New button,

3. Type the person's name and the e-mail address

with no spaces and click "OK".

 Import email into Microsoft Outlook Express

1. Click "Open" button.

2. On the File menu, point to [Copy to folder] or [Move to folder]

3.Verify the location of your messages, and then click OK.

Then you will find your email message in outlook express.

 Back up and restore the email messenger software

When first time launched, Email messenger software will be automatically backup to

your PC. After formatting your ULTRA-MP3 you can still restore the email software by

following the procedures below.

1.Click on [ My documents ] folder

2.You will find [ ULTRA-MP3-Backup ] folder

3.Find thmail.exe or smail.exe for restoring the email messenger software.

4. After executing thmail.exe or smail.exe file, You can select the drive letter for your

ULTRA-mp3 to restore the software.

Install ID3 Editor software



Using the Utility

This software can play MP3 files, edit ID3 tag, lyrics and images. It also can show

the lyrics and images when playing.

1.Insert the enclosed software CD into CD-ROM drive

2.Click "Install ID3 Editor software" to install software

For windows 98 user, please simply insert the enclosed CD into CD-ROM drive.

1. Double Click [ My computer ] from desktop

2. Select CD-ROM drive

3. Click the right button fo mouse andthen select [ Open ]

4. Double click the [ Setup.exe ] to install driver.

5. A series of screens, a wizard will guide you through the software installation.



Firmware Restoring

How to identify when it is needed to restore ULTRA-MP3 firmware?

--When the red LED lights up above the smart reader slot, it means that the

firmware needs to be restored. Please follow the instruction below to restore the

firmware.

ULTRA-MP3 provides a useful utility for restoring the firmware.

To install this utility, simply insert the enclosed CD into CD-ROM drive.

1 Double Click [ My computer ] from desktop.

2 Select CD-ROM drive.

3 Click the right button for mouse and then select [ Open ].

4 Double click the [Setup.exe] to install driver.

5 A series of screens, a wizard will guide you through the software installation.

1. Press and hold the Power key button

2. Connect the ULTRA-MP3 to your PC.( Please make sure the Power " "

button must be pressed while connecting the ULTRA-MP3 to the PC.)

3. When you have connected ULTRA-MP3 to the PC, please go to [ Device

Manager]

4. Please find a new drive named [ Player Recovery Device Class ] to check out if

it is well connected.( If you can not find [ Player Recovery Device Class ], please
