assembledtothewheelchairbasepriortodelivery.Note
thatthenalcongurationandpurchasingdecisionregarding
thecompletewheelchairsystemistheresponsibilityofthe
powerwheelchairuser,whoiscapableofmakingsucha
decision,andhis/herhealthcareprofessional.Thecontents
ofthismanualarebasedontheexpectationthatamobility
deviceexperthasttedthepowerwheelchairtotheuser
andhasassistedtheprescribinghealthcareprofessionalin
theinstructionanduseofthisdevice.
Theusermanualofthepowerwheelchaircontainsall
relevantsafetyinformationabouttheuseofthepower

etc.)thatwillbecarriedonthewheelchair.
Forexample,aloadedbackpack,attached
tothebackoftheseatingsystem,can
signicantlyreducetherearwardstabilityof
yourwheelchair.

Considerthebackrestbeingused.Forexample,
arecessedbackcanshiftyourcenterofgravity
backwardandsignicantlyreducetherearward
stabilityofthewheelchair.Conversely,athick
backcushionwillshiftyouforwardandreduce
thewheelchairsforwardstability.
Alwaysshiftyourweightinthedirectionyou
areturning.Shiftingweightintheopposite
directionoftheturnmaycompromisestability
ofthewheelchairbase,causingittotipover .
Considertheseatcushionbeingused.Athick
seatcushionwillraiseyourcenterofgravity
andreducethewheelchairsstabilityinall
directions.
Allseatingsystemsareequippedwithdrive
lockouts.Makecertainthisissetsoasnotto
compromiseyourstabilitywhiledriving(referto
SafetyLockoutandLimitSwitches(DXSystem)).
Thewheelchairhasaprogrammablecontroller
whichallowsadjustmentofthemaximum
accelerationanddecelerationofthewheelchair.
Makesurethatthesearesettoanappropriate
levelforthesystemandforyou,theuser.

Whenoperatinginreducedspeeddriveor
anti-tipperlockout,alwaystravelonasmooth
levelsurfacetoensurethewheelchairsstability
isnotcompromised.
Ensureallmedicalconditionsareconsidered
whensettingupyourwheelchair.Involuntary
musclemovementsuchasspasmsmayaffect
thestabilityofthewheelchair,especiallywhen
theseatingsystemisinatiltedorreclined
position.
Whenasystemisfullytiltedorreclined,
thefrontwheelsofthewheelchairshould
nevercomeofftheground.Ifthisoccurs,
pleasecontactyourauthorizedInvacaredealer
immediatelytoresolvetheissue.

3.1PowerPositioningFunctions
Theseatingsystemoffersthefollowingfunctions:
FIXEDPIVOTTILT
Thetiltfunctionslidesthepivotaxisandentireseat
assemblyforwardastheseattiltsback.Typicaltiltrange
is0°-20°.
CoG-TILT
TheCoG(centerofgravity)tiltfunctioncompensatesfor
weightshiftbyslidingthepivotaxisandentireseatassembly
forwardastheseattiltsback.Typicaltiltrangeis0°-30°.
RECLINE
Thereclinefunctionenablesuserstoinnitelychangethe
seattobackangleoftheirsystemwithinasetrange.Typical
reclineanglerangeis90°-120°.
LIFTERMODULE
Theliftermoduleallowsuserstoraisetheirpower
positioningsystemupto300mmabovethelowest
seat-to-oorheightoftheirsystem.Thelifteriscombined
withatiltfunction.
LEGRESTS
Ourwiderangeofpowerandmanuallegrestsareavailable
inanarrayofsizesandstylesincludingindividuallegrests
andcenter-mountedfootplatformstohelpsecureand
positionclients’legs.Inaddition,weofferamultitudeof
legresthangerstoaccommodateyourlegrestchoice.Power
legrestsmaybeprogrammedtooperateinoneofthetwo
followingcongurations:
Individual(legrestsoperateindependently),
Combined(legrestsoperateinunison)
3.2DriveandSeatingLimitations
DANGER!
RiskofSevereInjuryorDeath
Theangleatwhichthelimitswitches/lockoutsare
setiscriticaltothesafeoperationofthesystem.
Invacarewillnotbeliableforanyinjuriesor
damagesustainedwhenadjustmentsaremade
beyondthefactoryrecommendedsettings.
Toensureproperset-up,adjustmentsto
lockoutsandlimitsshouldonlybeperformed
byaqualiedtechnician.
Neverexceedthemaximumrecommended
limits.Lockoutsandlimitswitchesshouldbe
setuptobestmeettheneedsoftheuser
withoutcompromisingtheoverallstabilityof
thewheelchair .
Followinganylimitorlockoutadjustments,
alwaystesttheseatingsystemoverthefull
rangeofmotion(i.e.tilt,recline,lifter)to
verifytherevisedset-upisfunctioningproperly
andensurethattherearenoresultingstability
orinterferenceissues.

4.2AdjustmentPossibilityforRemote
Thefollowinginformationisvalidforallseatingsystems.
CAUTION!
Riskoftheremotebeingpushedbackwards
duringanaccidentalcollisionwithanobstacle,
suchasadoorframeortable,andthejoystick
beingjammedagainstthearmpadiftheposition
oftheremoteisadjustedandallscrewsarenot
completelytightened
Thiswillcausethemobilitydevicetodrive
forwarduncontrollablyandpotentiallyinjurethe
mobilitydeviceuserandanypersonstandingin
theway.
Whenadjustingthepositionoftheremote,
alwaysmakesuretotightenallscrewssecurely.
Ifthisshouldaccidentallyhappen,immediately
switchthemobilitydeviceelectronicsOFFat
theremote.

Whenleaningontheremote,forexample,when
transferringintooroutofthewheelchair,the
remoteholdermaybreakandtheusermayfall
