SyncroIP Series Firmware Update Instructions
Follow the steps below to install firmware updates for SyncroIP cameras. After updating the
firmware, you must reset the camera to default settings (see page 3 for details).
1. Connect the cameras to the same local area network (LAN) as the computer wher
e you will install
the firmware update.
NOTE: The
cameras must be connected directly to the LAN. They cannot be connected to an NVR,
as the PoE switch on the NVR will create a sub-network that cannot be reached by other devices on
the network.
2. Download and extract the firmware file and firmware upgrade tool from www
.digimerge.com.
3. Browse to the UpdateT
ool folder, right-click NewUpdateTool.exe and select Run as
administrator.

4. Under Add Device, enter the IP address range you would like to search for IP cameras. For
example, if your computer is at the IP address 192.168.1.2, enter 192.168.1.1 in the first box
and 192.168.1.255 in the second box to search all possible IP addresses on your network.
5. Click Add.
The Update Tool scans your network for cameras.

6. Under File Path, click Browse and select the firmware update file.
Click Browse and select
firmware update file
7. Check the cameras you would like to install the firmware update on and click Update. Wait for the
firmware update to complete.

NOTE: The firmware update may take up to 5 minutes to complete. The status will say upgrade
over when completed.

Resetting the camera to default settings
If your camera has a hardware reset button, press and hold the button for 5 seconds to reset the
camera to default settings. The camera must be connected to power to perform a factory reset.
OR
If your camera does not have a h
ardware reset button (e.g. DND13TL2), you can reset the camera
using a web browser.
To reset the camera using a web browser:
1. On a computer on the same LAN as the camera, open a web browser and enter the cameras IP
addr
ess in the address bar.
TIP: You c
an see the IP addresses of cameras to the LAN using the UpdateTool.
2. Under User N
ame and Password, enter the camera’s User Name (default: admin) and
Password (default: admin) and click Login.

3. Click Default Settings.

4. Click Restore then click OK to reset the camera to default settings. The camera will reboot.
