Part 1. Hardware Installation
1. Before installation, please make sure all of peripherals
and computers have been turned off.
2. Plug the 3-in-1 KVM cable connector to the computer
ports of KVM switch; plug the connectors on the 3-in-1
cable for keyboard, mouse and monitor to the ports on
computer respectively.
3. Connect two sets of keyboard, monitor and mouse to
the two console ports on the KVM switch.
4. After powering on computers and finishing the boot-up
process, you can start to go KVM switch. Please don’t
switch the PC port (i.e. don’t press the push button of
KVM switch or run hot key) during the computers are
under boot-up process.
5. Both monitors will show the image of the first booted
computer.
6. Console 1 will be the first administrator when the
system is ready. After that Console 1 and 2 can switch
the administration while moving the mouse.
7. Both Consoles can monitor each computer as you need
and manage the monitoring schedules respectively.
Only one can use the computer if two Consoles monitor
the same computer simultaneously; the other one will
show “Please wait” in red block on the screen.
Part 2. KVM Switch Operation
2.1. Hot-key Commands
A. Switch over 16 computers:
You may start with two <Scroll Lock> keystrokes
followed by number keystroke <1> to <8> or <A> to
<H>.
After you activate hot-key function, keyboard’s status
LED will light for correct operation.
B. Auto Scan:
Press <Scroll Lock>+<Scroll Lock>+<F4> to
automatically scan power-on computers.
a. Go to the OSD screen and press <Æ> to change
scan interval from 1-255 seconds.
b. Press two <Scroll Lock> + <Esc> to stop Auto
Scan.
C. Manual Scan:
Press <Scroll Lock>+<Scroll Lock>+<Space> to
switch to the next power-on computer.
D. During operation, any signal problem can press down
both the front-panel number <7> and <8> to reset the
system. The keyboard LED will blink to make sure
the action of reset.
2.2. Front Panel Push Buttons
A. You may select a computer by pressing the front panel
push button. If the channel connected to a power-on
computer, the front panel led will show green. If red
LED were lit, it reflects the selected computer.
B. Auto Scan:
By pressing the first-tier switch’s push button <1> and
<2>, you can activate Auto Scan function to scan
power-on computers.
C. Reset:
By pressing the front-panel number <7> and <8> to
reset the system. The keyboard LED will blink to
make sure the action of reset.
2.3. OSD (On-Screen-Display) Operation
A. Start with two <Scroll Lock> keystrokes to activate
On-Screen-Display function. Ppress <> or <> to
move to preferred computer and press <Enter>. Press
<Esc> to leave OSD menu.
B. F1 (EDIT):
a. After activate OSD function, you can use <> or
<> to move to preferred computer and press
<F1> to edit using character A~Z, 0~9, ”-”, “”,
and ”.”.
b. Press <F5> to clear or <Enter> to go to next
computer.
c. After editing, press <F1> to save change.
C. F2 (PSW):
a. After activate OSD function, use <> or <> to
move to preferred computer and press <F2> to set
password.
b. For a password protected computer, it will show a
&” symbol. When you go to the computer next
time, it will show a small window for you to enter
password.
c. If you want to cancel or change the password,
please enter OSD menu and press <F2> in that
computer name.
d. By not entering any character, you can cancel the
password or enter new password.
D. F3 (Scan Set):
After activate OSD function, use <> or <> to
move to preferred computer and press <F3> to set the
computer you want to scan. It will show a clock
symbol to identify the computer
E. F4 (Auto-Scan):
After you activate OSD function, you can press <Æ>
to set the scan rate from 1-255 seconds and press
<Å> to save change.
F. Channel Display:
When switch to different computer, it will show the
channel ID and computer name on the screen and
disappeared after 3 seconds.
G. During operation, if the computer has power off or
added, the status will also change in your next-enter
OSD menu.
Part 3. Troubleshooting
Ensure that all cables are well seated. Label all of cables
with the number for each respective computer to avoid
confusion.
1. Don’t press any keys on the keyboard while the selected
computer is booting up. Otherwise, it might cause the
keyboard error or keyboard is not detected at PC side.
2. The computer boot up fine, but keyboard doesn’t work.
(1) Make sure the keyboard works when directly
plugged into the computer.
(2) Try a different keyboard, but use only 101,102 or
104-key keyboard.
3. The Mouse is not detected during PC boot up.
(1) Make sure the mouse works when directly plugged
into the computer.
(2) Make sure the mouse is a true PS/2 mouse. A
combo mouse will work just as long as it is set for
PS/2 mode with the correct adapter.
(3) Try a different mouse.
4. Avoiding moving the mouse or pressing the mouse
buttons when switching the port.
Part 4. Remarks
4.1. Before operating this KVM switch, please read
operation menu carefully.
4.2. Please plug KVM switch adapter and use high quality
3-in-1 KVM cable for optimum operation.
