- There are three different sizes of motors and drives. All control units
run a 3-phase stepper motor. All control units have an input signal of
0-10 V.
- The drives have a built-in linerarization of the input signal, which
means that the rotor’s efficiency is proportional to the input signal.
- The drives have a preset threshold value of 0.1 V (hysteresis 0.13–0.07 V).
If the input signal falls below this value, the rotor stops.
- The drives have a rotation monitor (magnet mounted on the rotor with
associated magnetic sensor) and built-in cleaning function.
The functions can be disabled via DIP switches.
- The drives restart automatically after a voltage dip and
reset all alarms on restart.
- The motors are stepper motors and have the same torque over the
entire speed range.
- To avoid windmilling, a holding torque is applied when the motor is
stationary.
- The motor is equipped with a 2 m cable as standard.
- If total cable length exceeds 3 m, external EMC filters should be used.

Rotation
monitor
The rotation monitor is activated if a pulse is not received
every 30 minutes at min. rotation speed and every 20
seconds at max. rotation speed. The time between these
speeds is linear. The function can be disconnected using
DIP switches.
Probable
fault cause
on
installation
- Magnet turned the wrong way.
- Magnet transmitter connected incorrectly
(wrong polarity), see CONNECTIONS on page 4.
- The gap between the magnet transmitter
and the magnet is too large max. 15 mm.
Probable
fault cause

- The belt is broken.
- The belt is slipping.
- The rotor is stuck or too heavy.
- The magnet transmitter or magnet is broken.
Motor
temperature
The motor temperature indicator is activated if the coil
temperature in the motor is too high. The thermal contact
in the motor returns to normal when the temperature
drops.
Overvoltage The Overvoltage indicator is activated if the input voltage
exceeds 265 V.
Undervoltage The Undervoltage indicator is activated if the input
voltage falls below 190 V.
Over/under
temperature
The Over/under temperature indicator is activated if the
temperature in the control unit exceeds temperature
span -30 °C - +85 °C.
Short circuit The Short circuit indicator is activated and alarms if the
event of short circuit phase-phase or phase-earth.
Probable
fault cause
- Short circuit between phases in cable or motor.
- Short circuit between phase-earth in cable or motor.
- Cable break to one phase.
Measure motor resistance; it should be identical on all coils.
Internal fault The Internal fault indicator is activated if an internal fault
in the control system has occurred.
DIP SWITCHES
OPERATIONAL INDICATIONS
