YACHT ROUTER
12.1. Powering Converter
The easiest way it to power it is via PoE injector from Yacht Router, LAN Expander or WIFI Extender as it is shown on
the following photo.
IMPORTANT: Powering LAN Expander directly from Yacht Router via PoE
Ethernet cable is preferred method of connecon.
NMEA0183 to LAN converter can also be powered directly via power input from any DC power source.
DC power limits: 10-30 V. Inner pin on LAN EXPANDER socket is plus (+).
WARNING: WRONGLY CONNECTED DC POWER CABLE CAN DAMAGE NMEA0183 TO LAN CONVERTER THAT CAN
VOID THE WARRANTY. DO NOT CONNECT TO DC POWER SOURCE LOWER THAN 10 V AND HIGHER THAN 30 V
AS IT CAN DAMAGE LAN EXPANDER THAT CAN VOID THE WARRANTY. PROVIDE SUFFICIENT POWER SUPPLY.
INSUFFICIENT POWER SUPPLY WILL REPEATEDLY RESET AND CAN DAMAGE NMEA0183 TO LAN CONVERTER
THAT CAN VOID THE WARRANTY.
WARNING: NEVER POWER NMEA0183 TO LAN CONVERTER VIA LAN PORT AS IT WILL DAMAGE DEVICE AND WILL VOID THE WARRANTY.
12.2. Connecting NMEA device to NMEA-LAN Converter
Connect any NMEA device (ploer, transducers etc) to NMEA0183 port.
NOTE:
Manufacturers of navigaon or other devices that are transming NMEA0183 data somemes use dierent names for NMEA cabling.
IMPORTANT: default Baud rate on NMEA0183 and RS232 port is 4800 bps. If you want to change it you can do it with provided Conguraon soware.

12.3. Connecting NMEA-LAN CONVERTER to Yacht Router, LAN Expander or WIFI Extender
Connect NMEA-LAN CONVERTER to any Vessel Network or Backbone port on Yacht Router, LAN Expander or WIFI Extender. Once connected, it will imidiately start transmit NMEA0183
data.
IMPORTANT: default NMEA-LAN converter TCP/IP address is 10.80.0.91 port 7234. If you want to change it you can do it with provided Conguraon soware.
13. HOW TO RECONFIGURE NMEA-LAN CONVERTER
You can use NMEA-LAN Converter Conguraon Tool to change sengs. The easiest way to change sengs
it to directly connect NMEA-LAN converter to Windows based computer via LAN cable. Before you connect
NMEA-LAN Converter, set your computer to stac IP address 10.80.0.100, subnet 255.255.0.0.
Aer you start the soware click on Search in LAN buon. Once you see NMEA-LAN Converter (Module IP
10.80.0.91) on a Device list you can start changing values. Aer you make necesarry changes click on Set
selected item via LAN buon to save values on device.
There is actually only one values that you should change if necesarry: Baud Rate (bps). Change this value if you
plan to connect AIS or other devices that are transming on 38400 bps or other speed. Standard baud rate on
most NMEA devices is 4800. Rarely, some devices use 9600 bps.
WARNING: We strongly recommed that you do not change other values if you are not familiar with network
devices and terminology.
