Electrical safety
This appliance must be only connected
by a registered electrician.
In the event of a fault or damage to the
appliance: Take the fuses out or switch
off.
Repairs to the appliance must only be
carried out by qualified service engi-
neers. Considerable danger may result
from improper repairs. If repairs become
necessary, please contact our Custom-
er Services or your dealer.
Child Safety
Never leave children unsupervised when
the appliance is in use.
The appliance is fitted with a child safety
device.
Safety during Operation
This appliance should be used only for the
domestic cooking, roasting and baking of
food.
Be careful if connecting electrical appli-
ances to sockets near this appliance.
Electrical leads should not be allowed to
come near the hotplates or to become
caught under the hot oven door.
Warning: Danger of burns! When in
use, the oven interior surfaces become
very hot.
Warning: When cooking with the
Steam function, do not under any
circumstances open the oven door.
The escaping steam can cause mois-
ture damage to furniture and cabinets.
Avoid any direct contact with escaping
steam.
If you use alcohol in your cooking, a
slightly flammable alcohol/air mixture
may ensue. In this case, be careful when
opening the door. Do not handle any
sources of heat, sparks or naked flames
when doing so.
3 Information on acrylamides
According to the latest scientific knowl-
edge, intensive browning of food, espe-
cially in products containing starch, can
constitute a health risk due to acryla-
mides. Therefore we recommend cook-
ing at the lowest possible temperatures
and not browning foods too much.
How to avoid damage to the appliance
Do not line the oven with aluminium foil
and do not place baking trays, pots, etc.
on the oven floor, as the heat that builds
up will damage the oven enamel.
Fruit juices dripping from the baking tray
will leave stains, which you will not be
able to remove. For very moist cakes,
use a deep tray.
Do not put any strain on the oven door
when open.
Never pour water directly into the oven
when it is hot. This could cause damage
to or discolouration of the enamel.
Rough handling, especially around the
edges of the front panel, can cause the
glass to break.
Do not store any flammable materials in-
side the oven. These could ignite when
the oven is switched on.
Do not store any moist foods inside the
oven. This could damage the oven
enamel.
3 Note on enamel coating
Changes in the colour of the oven’s enamel
coating as a result of use do not affect the
appliance’s suitability for normal and correct
use. They therefore do not constitute a de-
fect in the sense of the warranty law.

Before Using for the first time
Setting and changing the time
3 The oven only operates when the time
has been set.
When the appliance has been connected to
the electrical supply or when there has been
a power cut, the function indicator
Time flashes automatically.
1. To change a time that has already been
set, press the Selection button re-
peatedly until the function indicator
Time flashes.
2. Using the / control knob, set the
current time.
After approx. 5 seconds, the flashing stops
and the clock displays the time of day set.
The appliance is now ready to use.
3 The time can only be modified, if the
child safety device is deactivated, none
of the Countdown , Cook time or
End time clock functions and no oven
function is set.
Initial Cleaning
Before using the oven for the first time you
should clean it thoroughly.
1 Caution: Do not use any caustic or
abrasive cleaners. The surface could be
damaged.
3 To clean metal fronts use commercially
available cleaning agents.
1. Set the oven functions dial to Light .
2. Remove all accessories and the shelf
support rails and wash them with warm
water and washing up liquid.
3. Then wash out the oven with warm wa-
ter and washing-up liquid, and dry.
4. Wipe the front of the appliance with a
damp cloth.

Using the Oven
Switching the Oven On and Off
Switching the oven on
Turn the oven functions dial to the desired
function. The power indicator light lights up.
The temperature display shows the suggest-
ed temperature for the oven function select-
ed.
The oven starts to heat up.
When the temperature set is reached, an au-
dible signal sounds.
Changing the oven temperature
Turn the / control knob to raise or lower
the temperature.
The setting changes in 5 °C steps.

Checking the temperature
Press Temperature check button .
The current oven temperature appears in the
temperature display.
Switching the oven off
To turn the oven off, turn the oven functions
dial to the OFF position.
3 Cooling fan
The fan switches on automatically in or-
der to keep the appliance’s surfaces
cool. When the oven is switched off, the
fan continues to run to cool the appli-
ance down, then switches itself off auto-
matically.

When the oven function has been
switched on the bars that slowly light
up one after the other indicate how far
the oven has heated up.
Residual heat indicator
When the oven has been switched off,
the bars that are still lit indicate the re-
maining residual heat in the oven.

Inserting the Oven Shelf and the
Baking Tray
3 Shelf runner safety and anti-tip de-
vice
As a shelf runner safety device, all insert-
able components have a small curved
indentation at the bottom on the right
and left-hand edge.
Always insert insertable components so
that this indentation is at the back of the
oven interior. This indentation is also im-
portant for preventing the insertable
components from tipping.
Inserting the baking tray
Push the baking tray between the guide bars
of the selected oven level.
Inserting the oven shelf:
Insert the oven shelf so that the feet point
downwards.
Push the oven shelf between the guide bars
of the selected oven level.
3The high rim around the oven shelf is an
additional device to prevent cookware from
slipping.
Moist Fan Cooking
For energy-saving baking and cooking of mainly dry bakery items as
well as for baking in tins on
one level.
Pizza setting
For baking on one oven level dishes that require
more intensive
browning and a crispy base
.
Set the oven temperatures 20-40 °C lower than when using Fan
Cooking.
Defrost
For defrosting e. g. flans and gateaux, butter, bread, fruit or other frozen
foods.
Bottom heat

Inserting the oven shelf and the baking
tray together:
Lay the oven shelf on the baking tray.
Push the baking tray between the guide
bars of the selected oven level.
Steam Cooking Functions
1 Important: The steam cooking func-
tions must always be set in conjunction
with the clock functions Cook time or
End time (see section Clock Func-
tions Cook time /End time ).
1 Important: Use only water for liquid,
however do not use filtered (demineral-
ised) or distilled water!
A buzzing sound is heard when the wa-
ter has been used up. Shortly after more
water is added, the buzzing sound is
switched off.
3 Because of the automatic steam disper-
sal period of approx. 5 minutes at the
end of the cooking time and the heating
up time of approx. 2 minutes, settings of
less than 10 minutes have little effect.
Steam will also escape when the door is
opened.
Full Steam
1. Do not pour water (650 ml) directly into
the steam generator, but into the water
drawer in the control panel.
The water supply lasts for approx.
30 minutes.
2. Select the cooking functionFull Steam
using the oven function switch.
3. Using the Selection button, select the
function Cook time or End
time and using the / switch, set the
cooking or switch-off time.
After about 2 minutes, the first steam ap-
pears. A single audible signal indicates when
the cooking temperature of approx. 96°C is
reached.
4. Switch off the oven using the oven func-
tion switch.
After the oven has cooled down, soak up
any remaining water from the steam genera-
tor using a sponge and, if necessary, wipe
out with a little vinegar.
Leave the door open to let the oven dry out
completely.
Quarter Steam + Heat
The continual change from hot air to steam
takes place automatically.
1. Do not pour water directly into the
steam generator, but into the water
drawer in the control panel.
2. Using the oven function switch, select
the function Quarter Steam + Heat
and using the / switch, set the de-
sired temperature.
3. Using the Selection button, select the
function Cook time or End
time and using the / switch, set the
cooking or switch-off time.
Then proceed as for
Full Steam
.

Clock Functions
Cook time
To set how long the oven is to be in use.
End time
To set the switch-off time for an oven func-
tion.
Countdown
To set a countdown. A signal sounds after
the time has elapsed.
This function does not affect the functioning
of the oven.
Time
To set, change or check the time
(See also section “Before Using for the First
Time).
3 How to use the clock functions
After a clock function has been select-
ed, the corresponding function indicator
flashes for about 5 seconds. During this
period, the desired times can be set or
modified using the / dial.
When the desired time has been set, the
function indicator continues to flash for
approx. 5 seconds. After that the func-
tion indicator is then lit. The set time be-
gins to run in the background.
When the clock functions Cook time
and End time have been complet-
ed, the oven functions dial must be
turned back to ”0“.
Using the Change display button,
you can switch between the oven tem-
perature and the time.
3 Checking the time set or remaining.
Press the Selection button repeated-
ly, until the appropriate clock function
flashes and the time set or remaining is
displayed.

Countdown
1. Press the Selection button repeatedly
until the function indicator

2. Using the / control knob set the de-
sired countdown (max. 99.00minutes).
The function indicator Countdown lights

When 90% of the time set has elapsed, an
audible signal sounds.
When the time has elapsed, ”0.00“ and the
function indicator flash.

To stop the flashing and the audible signal:
Press any button.
Cook time
1. Select the oven function and tempera-
ture.
2. Press the Selection button repeatedly
until the function indicator Cook time
flashes.
3. Using the / control knob set the de-
sired cooking time.
The function indicator Cook time lights up
and the oven comes on immediately.

When the time has elapsed, ”0.00“ and the
function indicator flash.
An audible signal sounds for 2 minutes. The
oven switches itself off.
To stop the flashing and the audible signal:
Turn the oven functions dial to ”0”.
End time
1. Select the oven function and tempera-
ture.
2. Press the Selection button repeatedly
until the End time function indicator
flashes.
3. Using the / control knob set the de-
sired switch-off time.
The function indicator End time lights up
and the oven comes on immediately.
When the time has elapsed, ”0.00“ and the
function indicator flash.
An audible signal sounds for 2 minutes. The
ovenswitches itself off.
To stop the flashing and the audible signal:
Turn the oven functions dial to ”0”.
Cook time and End time combined
3 Cook time and End time can be
used simultaneously, if the oven is to be

switched on and off automatically at a
later time.
1. Select the oven function and tempera-
ture.
2. Using the Cook time function, set the
time that the dish needs to cook.
In this example, 1 hour.
3. Using the End time function, set the
time at which the dish should be ready.
In this case, 14:05.
The Cook time and End time function
indicators light up and the temperature is
shown in the display.
In this example, 200°C.
The oven switches on automatically at the
time calculated.
In this case, at 13:05.
And switches itself off again when the cook
time entered has elapsed.
In this case, at 14:05.
Other functions
Oven’s child safety device
The oven is fitted with a child safety device.
As soon as the child safety device is activat-
ed, the oven cannot be switched on.
3 For the child safety device to be activat-
ed, none of the oven functions must be
currently selected.
Activating the child safety device
1. Turn the / dial to the left and hold it.
2. In addition press the Selection button
until “SAFE” appears ”in the“ display.
The child safety device is now activated.
Deactivating the child safety device
1. Turn the / dial to the left and hold it.
2. In addition press the Selection button
until “SAFE” disappears ”from“ the dis-
play.
The child safety device is now deactivated
and the oven is again ready for use.
Oven automatic cut-out
3 If not switched off after a certain time, or
if the temperature is not modified, the
oven switches off automatically.
The last temperature set flashes in the
temperature display.

It can then be switched on again.

Uses, Tables and Tips
Cooking with steam
For steam cooking, use the oven functions
Full Steam or Quarter Steam + Heat .
1 Warning: During Full Steam , do
not under any circumstances open
the oven door.
1 Important: Only water can be used as
the liquid.
Cookware for steam cooking
Cookware made of an appropriate heat
and corrosion resistant material is suita-
ble for steam cooking.
Chrome steel food containers or glass
cookware are also very suitable. (See
special accessories).
Oven levels
The appropriate oven level can be found
in the following table. Oven levels are
counted from the bottom to the top.
General instructions
For cooking times longer than
30 minutes or when cooking larger
quantities of food, top up the water, if
necessary.
If the appliance is not used for pro-
longed periods, thoroughly rinse out the
water drawer, connecting hoses and
steam generator (see chapter Care and
Cleaning).
Notes on the tables
The following tables give the required tem-
perature settings, cooking times and oven
levels for a selection of typical dishes.
Temperatures and cooking times are for
guidance only, as these will depend on
the composition and size of the food to
be cooked, the quantity and type of ov-
enware.
If you cannot find the settings for a par-
ticular recipe, look for the one that is
most similar.
Unless otherwise stated, the values giv-
en in the tables assume that cooking is
started with the oven cold.
Full Steam
The Full Steam Cooking method of prep-
aration is suitable for all types of food, fresh
or frozen. It can be used for cooking, warm-
ing, defrosting, poaching or blanching vege-
tables, meat, fish, pasta, rice, sweet corn,
semolina and eggs.
Cooking of menus
Complete menus can be prepared in one go.
Ideally dishes that require similar cooking
times should be chosen. This will prevent in-
dividual components being under or over
cooked. The amount of water to be used will
depend on the largest amount of water
specified for the individual components cho-
sen. For information, see Table.
The dishes should be positioned in suitable
cooking containers on the oven shelves. The
gap between the oven shelves must be ad-
justed so that the steam can get to every
dish.

Sterilising containers
The Full Steam function makes it possible
to sterilise containers, e. g. babies’ bottles,
using steam. To do this place the cleaned
containers in the middle of the oven shelf in
the 1st shelf level with the opening facing
downwards. Insert the containers into the
oven at a slight angle. Pour in the maximum
amount of water (650 ml) and select a cook
time of 40 mins. at 96°C.

Fan Cooking and Full Steam in succession
By combining Fan Cooking and Full
Steam one after the other and in the
case of Full Steam together meat,
vegetables and accompaniments can be
cooked in the oven so that they are ready to
serve at the same time.
Start roasting the food to be roasted us-
ing the oven functionFan Cooking .
Put prepared vegetables and accompa-
niments in oven-proof dishes and place
in the oven with the roast.
Start the Full Steam function and
cook it all together until ready.
3 Before you can start the Full Steam
function, the oven must have cooled to
a temperature of around 80°C. To cool
the oven down more quickly, open the
oven door to the first position for ap-
prox. 15 mins.

stick tins are suitable.

With Fan Cooking or Moist Fan
Cooking you can bake on up to 3 baking
trays at the same time:
1 baking tray:
e.g. oven level 3
1 cake tin:
e.g. oven level 1
2 baking trays:
e.g. oven level 1 and 3
3 baking trays:

General instructions
Insert the tray with the bevel at the front.
You can also bake two cake tins next to
each other on the oven shelf at the same
time. This only slightly increases the
baking time.
3 When frozen foods are used the trays in-
serted may distort during cooking. This
is due to the large difference in temper-
ature between the freezing temperature
and the temperature in the oven. Once
the trays have cooled the distortion will
disappear again.
How to use the baking tables
The following tables give the required tem-
perature settings, cooking times and oven
levels for a selection of dishes.
The temperatures and baking times are
a guide as they depend on the ingredi-
ents in the dough, the amount and the
baking tin.
For the first time we recommend setting
a lower temperature and only if neces-
sary, for example if you want it to brown
more or if the baking is taking too long,
select a higher temperature.
If you cannot find any specific settings
for one of your own recipes, look for one
that is most similar.
When baking cakes on baking trays or in
tins on more than one level, baking time
can be extended by 10-15 minutes.
Moist cakes and pastries (e.g. pizzas,
fruit flans, etc.) are baked on one level.
Differences in the height of the items can
cause differences in the degree of
browning at the beginning of the baking
process. Please do not change the tem-
perature setting if this occurs. Differenc-
es in the degree of browning even out
during the baking process.
Your new oven may bake or roast differ-
ently from your previous appliance. If
this is the case, adjust your normal set-
tings (temperature, cooking times) and
oven levels to the recommendations in
the tables below.
2 With longer baking times, you can
switch the oven off about 10 minutes
before the end of the cooking time in or-
der to use the residual heat.
