Connecting the monitor as a rear view video system
➤ Lay the monitor cable on the dashboard.
➤ Insert the plug of the monitor cable (d 2, page 8) into the socket (d 4, page 8) of
the connection cable (d 3, page 8).
Make sure the polarity is correct when connecting to a voltage source.
➤ Connect the red and black cables of the connection cables to a suitable
voltage supply:
– Connect the red cable (d 5, page 8) to terminal 15 (ignition).
– Connect the black cable (d 6, page 8) to terminal 31 (earth).
➤ If the monitor is to be activated when reverse gear is selected, connect the green
cable (d 9, page 8) to the positive cable of the reversing light.
If a voltage is present at the green cable, video input 2 (AV2) is automatically
activated.
The violet cable (d 10, page 8) serves as a signal cable to activate the normal/inverted
image function when using the RV-24, RV-27 or RV-29-T130 cameras. If these cameras
are used, a normal picture is generated if the violet cable is connected to earth.
If the RV-20/M and RV-20/CFM cameras are in use, the cable is not used.
➤ Insulate the violet cable if you are using a RV-20/M or RV-20/CFM camera.
➤ If necessary, connect the DIN socket (d 9, page 8) of the connection cable to the
DIN plug of the video source 1 (e.g. DVD player).
➤ If necessary, connect the DIN socket (d 10, page 8) of the connection cable to the
DIN plug of the video source 2 (e.g. camera).
Connecting the monitor as an entertainment device (e.g. to a DVD player)
➤ Connect the red and black cables of the connection cables to a voltage supply:
– Connect the red cable (d 5, page 8) to terminal 15 (ignition).
– Connect the black cable (d 6, page 8) to terminal 31 (earth).
➤ Insert the 6-pin mini DIN plug of the adapter cable supplied in the socket of the
required video input (d 7, page 8 or d 8, page 8).
