20mm Ruins #10 Ruined Balcony
B20-RU-010
Please read these instructions fully before starting construction.
PVA or equivalent glue will be required to stick sections together.
Sand paper can be used to gently clean any joints.
A sharp modelling knife will be required to remove sections from the sprue. Please use knives with due care and remember
to cut away from yourself at all times.
During the construction of this model, you may find it convenient to use pegs / elastic bands to hold pieces in place while
you allow glue to dry.
We recommend painting portions of this kit mid-way through assembly see below for details.
Remove the wall sections and base from the sprue
Glue the walls back-to-back, then attach them to the
base as shown above.
Take the balcony pieces shown.
Carefully attach the supports to the underside of the
balcony.
Attach the balustrade.
The glue the handrail pieces into position.
This is the point to paint
your model.
The wall section, once it has been painted.
Attach the balcony to the wall, then gently ease the
lugs on the supports into the base.
The supports and leg pieces are optional.
If required, glue the supports under the balcony and
the leg pieces to the bottom of the balcony legs.
The completed model.
At the appropriate point during construction, we sprayed all the stonework portions of our model with a matt
black car undercoat aerosol, then applied a heavy drybrush of a dark blue/grey colour emulsion.
After that had dried we applied a lighter drybrush of a pale grey colour, then followed this by a very light dry-
brush of an almost white emulsion.
All our emulsion paints are DIY store colour-test pots.
All the wooden pieces were left alone i.e. bare MDF.
