1. DP-3000 PROJECTOR COULD PICK UP
COMMANDS FROM THE REMOTE CONTROL OF
OTHER EQUIPMENT
1.1 General
Phenom enon
The DP-3000 projector has an Infra Red receiver which could pick up commands from the
remote control of other equipment in the neighborhood. The DP3000 supports the RC5
protocol, so any RC5 compatible remote could possibly control the DP3000 as well, resulting
in unintended macro s witching or unintended lamp and/or dowser control.
Cause
The IR receiver was originally in the DP100, and made it easier to control the ACSAR, if this
option was available in the projector. The DP3000 inherited this IR receiver.
Field solution
If you don’t want the DP3000 to listen to IR commands that are in fact meant to control
other devices, you should cover the IR receiver. The IR receiver is located close to the local
keypad, right beneath the socket for the security key (Dallas key).
Final solution
Production series from October 2008 onwards will have a Button Module without IR receiver.
Scope
DP-3000 projectors which are installed in a booth with e quipment using RC5 compatible
remote.
