Installing Gio6 OS
Several VXL Instruments thin client models come pre-installed with the Gio6 operating
system. If you want to install the GIO6 operating system on a supported thin client, follow
the instructions provided in this Installation Guide.
Prerequisites:
A flash drive with a capacity of 2 GB or above.
A GIO6 installation .ISO file.
Or
A GIO6 bootable USB flash drive (created using an .ISO to bootable USB flash drive
converter. For example, UNetbootin).
If you have a GIO6 OS bootable USB flash drive, perform the steps in ‘Installation’
section on page 2.
If you do not already have a GIO6 5 bootable USB flash drive, perform the following
steps: 1. Download and Install UNetbootin application on your Linux or Windows
machine.
Note: You can download UNetbootin from the following
link: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
2. Insert a flash drive of 2 GB capacity or more in the USB port.
3. Launch the UNetbootin application.
4. Select Disk image.
5. Select ISO, browse and select the GIO6 ISO file.
6. In the Type field, select USB Drive.
7. In the Drive field, select the flash drive.

8. Click OK.

Installation
To install GIO6 OS on your thin client from your GIO6 OS bootable USB flash drive:
1. Insert the USB flash drive which has the GIO6 OS installation pack in the USB port of
your thin client.
2. Switch on the thin client.
3. Press the Delete key immediately after the thin client starts. The Enter
CURRENT password screen appears.
4. Enter drupad.
Note: You only have a few seconds to press the Delete key to access the
BIOS. You will not be able to access the BIOS after the operating system
starts loading.
5. Select boot using your arrow keys, press Enter.

6. Under Boot Settings, select Hard Disk Drives.
7. Set your USB flash drive as the 1

Drive.
8. Press the F10 key. The save configuration dialog box appears.
9. Click OK. Your thin client will restart. After the reboot, the UNetbootin window appears.
10 It will prompt for yes/no options. If user types yes then installation process continues. If user
types no then Installation stops.
12. After this existing partition will be deleted and new partitions will be created.
13. After creating the partition, Created partition will be formatted and Image dumping
will be started.
14. Once the Image dumping is done, Remove all USB device and press Enter, System
will Shutdown.
