THIS PRODUCT MEETS THE F.C.C. STANDARD FOR WEATHER-
PROOF OUTDOOR TELEPHONE CONNECTING DEVICES
ESTABLISHED JULY 12, 1976
Wiring Instructions:
1. Strip outside cable jacket back 1-1/4" then cut off 1/2" of green jacketed
conductor (black and
white conductors are
now 1-1/4" long and
green conductor is 3/4"
long).
2. Strip insulation on each
conductor back 1/2".
3. Loosen the three face
assembly screws and
remove the front portion
from the cord grip.
4. Loosen the cord grip
screws and slide the
cover down the cord.
5. Twist the strands of each wire into a tight bundle, leave no loose
strands. Do not tin or apply solder to wire ends.
6. Turn terminal screws counterclockwise to allow insertion of wire.
Wrap bare end of conductors under proper terminal screws.
Black Wire to R (Ring)
White Wire to T (Tip)
Green Wire to "GR" (Ground)
Tighten terminal screws 5-7 in.-lbs.
7. Slide cover up to wired interior assembly and tighten face assembly
screws 3-5 in.-lbs.
8. Tighten cord clamp screws 2-4 in.-lbs.
