Zero-U, Digital KVM over IP
Server Management
AMI’s new low-cost, zero-U digital KVM over IP solu-
tion enables system administrators with instant,
clutter-free, space-saving and non-intrusive remote
management.
With KVM over IP, administrators can remotely control
a server’s keyboard, video and mouse (KVM) over the
Internet, from anywhere in the world.
The MegaRAC K1-VGA and MegaRAC K1-DVI allows
administrators to remotely monitor and control a
server or PC via the Internet. The zero-U KVM solution
attaches to a server, PC or analog switch to enable
remote monitoring of video and allows for remote
control of the keyboard and mouse.
MegaRAC K1-VGA and MegaRAC K1-DVI
• Zero-U form factor: no rack or desktop space used
• Single user
• Video provides remote video display, fast redirection
and animation; resolution up to 1280 x 1024
• Remote keyboard and mouse control
• Set-up: non-intrusive installation, sits outside the KVM
or computer and does not affect local operations
• Easy to set up: attaches to standard KVM or PC ports
• Remote Boot: USB 2.0 Mass Storage Emulation allows
the local computer to boot from a remote drive over
the network
• Video interface: dual mode LCD monitor controller
• Ethernet: 10/100 Mpbs
• Remote software: KSeek discovers K1-DVIs deployed in
a network and uses AMI proprietary CURI protocol for
discovery
• Can attach to an existing analog KVM; allowing the
user to:
- Upgrade existing analog KVM switch installations,
easily and conveniently, to a KVM over IP. The user
receives significant cost savings, allowing them to
continue to deploy their current analog KVM
switches
- Control multiple servers using just one MegaRAC K1
by attaching to a multi-port analog switch
- Display multiple views; multiple remote sites can
simultaneously monitor the MegaRAC K1
The MegaRAC K1 is available in two versions:
• MegaRAC K1-VGA (analog video version)
• MegaRAC K1-DVI (digital video version)
The MegaRAC K1 patent-
pending, proprietary
single user solution
provides incredible video
performance, seen only
in far more
complex and expensive
products.
Attaches to a server, PC
or analog switch.
