Subject: Hyundai Audio Fitment and Aftermarket Servicing & Claim
Procedure
We have attached the installation procedure for Hyundai Audio Systems. Refer
to the respective procedures for each vehicle from the page numbers referred
to in table one. The table below provides details of the first VIN No’s when we
commenced installing Hyundai Audio System.
The second table provides details of which Audio units are installed into which
vehicle.
The third table provides a list of the individual parts and their part number.
Please read page three of the bulletin and familiarise yourselves with the
Hyundai Warranty Replacement Procedures. If you follow these instructions the
process will be easily managed. If you do experience any difficulties please
contact our office for advice.

Hyundai Audio Warranty Replacement Procedures
Dealer enters product/s failure/s details in full in HANZ Hyundai Blue
Book to request a replacement unit to be supplied. Dealer must
complete “Customer Booked-in date” box.
Dealer sends Blue Book replacement form
by fax to HANZ on 09 573 2051
HANZ will dispatch a replacement unit to the Dealer to support
the Dealers request for a replacement unit.
Dealer installs replacement
unit in owners’ vehicle on
scheduled “Booked-in date”
If owner fails to arrive on
“Booked-in date”, Dealer is
to contact owner. If contact
cannot be made within 24
hours, Dealer is to
immediately return the unit
to HANZ.
The Dealer packs faulty unit into
original packaging and carton with
the original packing slip. A prepaid
E60 NZ Courier Ltd satchel is

Audio Installation Instructions for SM Santa Fe
1. DESCRIPTION
This bulletin provides the correct procedure for fitment of this CD Tuner into the
2002 SM Santa Fe effective from VIN No.
99999 - HM5065A (GLS) or HM5065E (GL)
2. PARTS REQUIRED

3. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1) Position the transit fuse into operational
Mode. This fuse is located in the cabin fuse
box (access panel in drivers side ‘knee
block panel’)
2) Remove the radio blanking plate by
carefully inserting a thin flat blade
screwdriver 45mm inwards from the top
edge of the blanking plate and gently
levering.

Insert the screwdriver 45mm inwards from the
top edge, on both sides and remove blanking
plate with your fingers.
(See photo).
NOTE - To avoid damaging the centre Facia panel
during blanking plate removal, Please insert a
small piece of cardboard (as shown) to protect the
facia while levering.
3) Disconnect the attached wiring harness and
aerial connector from the rear of the
blanking plate. (See photo).
4) Connect the HM6065 wiring harness
connector to the vehicle wiring connector.
Check that the 1-amp fuse is secure in the
fuse holder of the HM5065 harness.
Check that all leads are firmly affixed into
the plug of HM5065 harness, except for the
pink ‘telephone mute’ wire, which does not
need to be connected.
5) Connect the aerial and HM5065 wiring
harness to the radio, ensuring that the
orange ‘illumination‘ wire from the audio
unit rear is connected to the ‘female’
orange wire in the HM5065 harness.
6) Insert the radio into the install sleeve. Do
not push the radio all the way into the
locking position at this stage. Insert the
radio into the install sleeve.
7) You now need to confirm that all controls
are operational.
8) The Anti-Theft code needs to be entered, to
do this, follow the instructions below.
PROCEDURE FOR ENTERING ANTI-THEFT SECURITYCODE.
To activate the security code, please follow these steps.
1) Turn on the unit.
7. If the unit screen indicates “1 CDE”, this is a message that you need to enter
the anti-theft security code.
3) The security code number can be found printed on the plastic card supplied.
4) Every Hyundai stereo has it’s own individual anti-theft security code.
Entering an incorrect code or using incorrect procedures will not activate the
stereo to an operational status.
5) The anti-theft code is made up of four computer-generated numbers.
6) For example the code may be 7963.
7) To enter code 7963 into the audio unit, always follow these steps,

Please note: the following operation requires the use of tuner buttons in order of
(1) to (4) only.
a) Press tuner button number one (1), seven times. (7)
b) Press tuner button number two (2), nine times. (9)
c) Press tuner button number three (3), six times. (6)
d) Press tuner button number four (4), three times. (3)
e) Check that the code shown on the screen is correct.
f) Press tuner button number five (5) once to activate the code.
8) Important:
If you have entered the incorrect anti-theft code or used an
incorrect procedure at your first attempt, the audio screen will exhibit the
following message “2 CDE”. This means you need to enter the code a
second time, taking care to follow the instructions and enter the correct
code.
9) If the stereo screen shows the message “3 CDE”, this means a 2
nd
incorrect
code was entered.
If a 3
rd
incorrect code in entered the audio unit will turn off. A period of at
least one hour must pass before attempting to re-enter the correct anti-
theft security code.
10) Confirm tuner operation for each band by:
a) Pressing the tune/seek button up or
down to search for the local MW/AM
stations. Once you have found a
station this will confirm the set is
operational MW/AM mode.
b) FM Radio. Press tune/seek button up
or down for a local FM station. Again,
when a station is selected, the tuner
operation is confirmed.
OPERATIONAL CHECKS
11) Confirm CD Mechanism operation.
a) Please insert a CD into CD aperture. Confirm that CD mechanism
is operational.
b) To remove disc – press the white eject button.
12) Confirm all four speakers are operational by performing the following checks:
a) Press volume control repetitively until screen shows wording,
Fader.
b) Turn volume control to left to check rear speakers operational.
c) Press volume control repetitively until screen shows wording,
Balance.
d) Turn volume control to left to check rear left speakers operational.
e) Turn volume control to right to check rear right speakers
operational.
f) Press volume control repetitively until screen shows wording,
Fader.
g) Turn volume control to left to check front speakers operational.

h) Press volume control repetitively until screen shows wording,
Balance.
7
i) Turn volume control to left to check front left speakers
operational.
j) Turn volume control to right to check front right speakers
operational.
Note: Faulty Product.
If any of the following functions fail to operate,
a) Tuner operation.
b) CD Mechanism.
c) Fader control.
d) Balance control.
Do not complete the installation of the radio
1. Remove the radio from the vehicle.
2. Repack the radio into it’s original packaging complete with
harness and owner’s manual and anti-theft security code
plastic card.
3. Return the radio to the parts department for packing and
despatch to the HANZ.
4. Please refer to operational procedures for the return of faulty
product back to the HANZ.
5. Install a new radio following above procedures.
13) Complete the installation of radio (after all of the above functions have been
confirmed to be operational), by pressing the radio firmly on the front at each
end. When you hear the sound of the click-lock, this indicates the radio is
locked into the install sleeve.
NOTE – If the radio does not easily slide all the way into the ‘locking’
position, remove the radio from the DIN install sleeve and reposition
the radio wiring harness to allow for easier installation.
Never insert the radio using force.
Ensure that the radio is slid into the locking position by
pressing only on the front outer ends of the unit. Please
ensure that the installer’s fingers and thumbs do not contact
the LCD panel at any stage in the installation process.
14) Confirm that the radio is secure & install the audio unit dress ring over the
front of the radio and firmly press into position ensuring that the dress ring
removal hole is on the right hand side of the dress ring.
15) Place the owners manual and Anti-Theft security card within the plastic
sleeve supplied and place in the glove box.
16) Affix the Anti-theft warning labels to the (inside of) the lower left corner of the
Drivers front window, and also to the lower right corner of the Passenger
front window, ensuring that the labels are parallel with the top of the door
line.
Audio Installation Instructions for TB Getz
1. DESCRIPTION
This bulletin provides the correct procedure for fitment of this CD Tuner into the
2002 TB Getz effective from VIN No.

3. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1) Position the transit fuse into
operational Mode. This fuse is located
in the cabin fuse box, and may be
accessed via the access door in the
drivers’ side ‘knee block pocket’.

2) Remove the radio blanking plate by
carefully inserting a thin flat
screwdriver 45mm inwards from the top
edge of the blanking plate and gently
levering. (See photo)
Note: To avoid damaging the centre Facia
panel during blanking plate removal. Please
insert a small piece of cardboard (as shown)
to protect the facia while levering.
3) Disconnect the attached wiring harness
and aerial connector from the rear of
the blanking plate. (See photo)
4) Remove the adhesive backing from the
foam insulator strip (supplied with the
audio unit), and affix this insulator strip
to lower section (at the front) of the
install sleeve as shown. (See photo)
5) Connect the HM5065 wiring harness
connector to the vehicle wiring
connector.

Check that the 1-amp fuse is secure in
the fuse holder of the HM5065
harness.
Check that all leads are firmly affixed
into the plug of the HM5065 harness,
except for the pink ‘telephone mute’
wire, which does not need to be
connected.
6) Connect the aerial and HM5065 wiring
harness to the radio, ensuring that the
orange ‘illumination’ wire from the
audio unit rear is connected to the
‘female’ orange wire in the HM5065
harness.

7) To provide easier installation, lower the
glove box by removing the stoppers, on
either side of the glove
box door, and
reposition the audio unit wiring harness
from the rear.
8) Insert the radio into the install sleeve.
Do not push the radio all the way into
the locking position at this stage.

You now need to confirm that all audio unit functions are operational. The Anti-
Theft security code needs be entered to do this.

local FM station. Again, when a station is
selected the tuner operation is confirmed.
12) Confirm CD Mechanism operation.
a) Please insert a CD into CD aperture. Confirm that CD mechanism is
operational.
b) To remove disc – press the white eject button.
13) Confirm all four speakers are operational by performing the following checks:
a) Press volume control repetitively until screen shows wording, Fader.

box assembly and reposition the radio wiring harness to allow for
easier installation.

the LCD panel at any stage in the installation process.
15) Confirm that the radio is secure & install the audio unit dress ring over the
front of the radio. Firmly press the dress ring into position, ensuring that the
removal hole is located on the right hand side.
16) Place the Owners manual and Anti-Theft security card within the plastic
sleeve supplied and place in the glove box.
17) Affix the Anti-theft warning labels onto the (inside) lower left corner of the
Drivers front window, and also to the lower right corner of the Passenger
front window, ensuring that the labels are parallel with the top of the door
line.
1. REMOVAL PROCEDURE.
1) Using the dress ring removal key
supplied, slide the thin end of the key
all the way into the removal hole on the
right hand side of the dress ring, and
hook-lift the dress ring out until you can
remove it by hand. (See photo)
2) Using the two radio removal keys
supplied, insert each key between the
radio unit and install sleeve at each
end of the radio, and gently push the
keys towards the front of the vehicle
until a clicking sound can be heard.
(See photo)
3) Gently pull both keys towards the rear
of the vehicle to remove the audio unit
from the install sleeve.
4) Disconnect the audio unit wiring and
aerial connectors, and remove the
audio unit from the vehicle.
Note: Care must be taken, not to damage the
audio unit wiring harness during removal.

1. DESCRIPTION
This bulletin provides the correct procedure for fitment of this CD Tuner into the
2002 LC Lavita effective from VIN No. KMHPM81CR3U068611

3. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1) Position transit fuse into operational
mode. This fuse is located under the
bonnet.

2) Take the two side spring clips and two
mounting screws from the plastic
storage bag supplied with the radio.
Position the side clips to each side of
the radio. Please take care to ensure
the front and rear positioning tongs of
these side spring clips are inserted into
the relevant holes in the cabinet prior
to affixing it. Affix the side spring clips
to each side of the cabinet by firmly
screwing the two mounting screws into
position.
3) Remove the radio blanking plate, by
carefully inserting a thin flat blade
screwdriver, 45mm inwards from the
top edge of the plate on both sides.
(See photo above).

Insert the screwdriver 45mm inwards from the
top edge, on both sides and remove blanking
plate with your fingers.
NOTE- Avoid damaging the upper center
Facia.
4) Disconnect the wiring harness and
aerial connector from the rear of the
blanking plate. (See photo).
Discard the
blanking plate.
5) Insert the supplied foam strip onto the
bottom surface of the radio sleeve.
Ensure the gap between the strip and
the cradle is even on both sides of the
foam strip. Firmly press down on the
strip. (See photo).
Connect the HM5064 radio wiring harness as
shown.
Ensure both gaps are
even
6) Connect the HM5065A wiring harness
connector to the vehicle connector.
(See photo).
a) Check that the fuse is secure in
the fuse holder.
b) Check that all leads are affixed
into both plugs of HM5065A
harness except the telephone
mute cable.
7) Connect the aerial and wiring harness
to the radio.

Position the radio on an angle and
gently insert the radio into the install
sleeve.
Be sure the radio sits over the foam
strip. Ensure the strip is not pulled off
the sleeve to confirm that all controls
are operational Do not push the radio
all the way into the Locking position at
this stage.
Position the radio on an angle to assist in
sliding over the foam strip.
The Anti-Theft security code needs be
entered.
9) ANTI-THEFT SECURITY CODE INPUT PROCEDURE.
To activate the security code, please follow these steps
.
a) Turn on the stereo.
b) If the stereo screen indicates “1 CDE”, this is a message that you need
to enter the anti-theft security code.
c) The security code number can be found printed on the plastic card
supplied.
d) Every Hyundai stereo has it’s own individual anti-theft security code.
Entering an incorrect code or using incorrect procedures will not activate
the stereo to an operational status.
e) The anti-theft code is made up of four computer-generated numbers.

10) Confirm tuner operation.
a) AM Radio. Press tune/seek button
up or down to search for local
MW/AM stations. Once you have
found a station this will confirm the
set is operational in this mode.
b) FM Radio. Press tune/seek button
up or down to search for a local
FM station. Once you have found

a station this will confirm the set is
operational in this mode.
11) Confirm CD Mechanism operational.
a) Please insert a CD into CD aperture.
Confirm that CD mechanism is
operational.
b) To remove disc – press the white eject
button.
12) Confirm all four speakers are operational.
Fader and Balance control check.
a) Press volume control repetitively until screen shows wording, Fader.
b) Turn volume control to left to check rear speakers operational.
c) Press volume control repetitively until screen shows wording, Balance.
d) Turn volume control to left to check rear left speakers operational.
e) Turn volume control to right to check rear right speakers operational.
f) Press volume control repetitively until screen shows wording, Fader.
g) Turn volume control to left to check front speakers operational.
h) Press volume control repetitively until screen shows wording, Balance.
i) Turn volume control to left to check front left speakers operational.
j) Turn volume control to right to check front right speakers operational.
Note: Faulty Product.
If any of the above operational points fail to operate,
a. Tuner operation.
b. CD Mechanism.
c. Fader control.
d. Balance control.
Do not complete the installation of the radio.
I. Remove the radio from the vehicle.
II. Repack the radio into it’s original packaging complete with harness
and owner’s manual and anti-theft security code plastic card.
III. Return the radio to the stores department for packing and despatch
to the HANZ.
IV. Please refer to operational procedures for the return of faulty
product back to the HANZ.
V. Install a new radio following above procedures.
13) Complete installation of radio into dash
14) Press the radio firmly on the front at
each end (See photo).
When you hear the sound of the click-
lock, this indicates the radio is locked
into the install sleeve. (If OK go to
step 15)
If you cannot hear the click-lock
sound, this suggests the radio is
not locked into position.

Remove the radio.
(Refer to removal procedure on
the next page) Check that the
radio harness is towards the rear
and is not impeding the insertion of
the radio. Re-insert the radio and
push it firmly into position until you
hear the click-lock sound. Confirm
that the radio is secure.
15) Place the supplied dress ring over the
front of the radio and firmly press into
position.
Please note: that the dress ring has
a small hole on one side. This hole
side is meant to be installed on the
right hand side of the radio. (See
photo).
16) Place the owner’s manual and Anti-Theft
security code plastic card within its plastic
sleeve into the glove box.
17) Anti-Theft warning window stickers.
These stickers are supplied with each unit. They need be installed on both
front windows.
Driver’s side window is to be positioned on the lower left hand corner
on the inside of window.
Passenger side window is to be positioned on the lower right hand
corner on the inside of window.
Please take care that you install the stickers in a straight line parallel
with the top of door line.
3. REMOVAL PROCEDURE.
a) Using the supplied dress ring
removal Key, slide the thin end of
the key all the way into the right
hand side small hole, and hook-lift
this side of the dress out until you
can remove the dress ring by
hand. (See photo)

b) Using the supplied radio removal
keys, insert each key to the
extreme outside of the radio
between the radio and install
sleeve. (See photo)
Press the keys in until a clicking
sound can be heard, then gently
pull both keys towards the rear of

the vehicle to remove the unit.
Note: Care must be taken not to
damage the Radio wiring harness
when removing.
c) Disconnect harness and aerial
connector from rear of radio.
Audio Installation Instructions for GK Tiburon
1. DESCRIPTION
This bulletin provides the correct procedure for fitment of this CD Tuner into the
2002 GK Tiburon effective from VIN No. KMHHN61FR3U053428

3. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1) Position transit fuse into operational mode. This fuse is located under
the bonnet.
2) Take the two side spring clips and two mounting screws from the
plastic storage bag supplied with the radio. Position the side clips to
each side of the radio. Please take care to ensure the front and rear
positioning tongs of these side spring clips are inserted into the
relevant holes in the cabinet prior to affixing same. Affix the side spring
clips to each side of the cabinet by firmly screwing the two mounting
screws into position.
3) Remove the radio blanking plate, by
carefully inserting a thin flat blade
