Taps & Waste
Please Note: The clicker waste supplied with the basin mixers is only suitable for basins with
an overow. A free owing waste is required when the basin does not have an overow.

Thank you for purchasing this HiB Novum product.
Please read through these instructions carefully and refer back
to them during installation to ensure that your product is tted
safely and that it retains its high quality nish.
Please retain this leaet for future reference.
General
Prior to installation please ensure that the system is adequate
and that all supply pipes have been ushed through to remove
debris. All taps minimum operating pressure of 0.2 bar to a
maximum of 8.0 bar.
Isolating Valves (Not Supplied)
To enable each supply to be individually isolated the product
should be tted with individual isolating valves. Claims will be
dealt with on this basis.
Cleaning and General Care
When installing or using tools, extra care must be taken to
avoid damaging the nish of the product. To maintain the
appearance of the tting, please ensure it is cleaned regularly
using a clean soft damp cloth only. Abrasive cleaners or
detergents should not be used as they will cause serious
surface deterioration. Care should be taken when tiling to
ensure no tile adhesive comes into contact with the product.
Water Pressure
This mixer is suitable for use at all water pressures. For
optimum performance both hot and cold supplies should be
reasonably balanced.
If the mixer is installed at low pressure the minimum distance
from the spout outlet to the underside of the tank should be
2m. This will ensure adequate performance.
These taps should be installed in compliance with Water
Regulations. Where the water supplies are unbalanced,
approved check valves must be tted in the supply pipes.
Byelaw Regulations
The product has been manufactured to BS requirements and
conforms to all WRc regulations. This product should be
installed according to Water Byelaw Regulations.

Fitting Method
1. Turn o the mains supply. All water systems should be
turned o.
2. Drain the hot & cold water systems. To ensure complete
drainage, open all taps.
3. Identify all components and check for completeness.
4. Fit to the basin using the ‘C’ plate kit. The full rubber
washer goes between the basin and the ‘C’ shaped washer
and metal washer should be tted on the underside of the
basin.
5. Secure the mixer to the basin by using the threaded rod
and nut. Do not over tighten.
6. Fit the exi tails to the product. Do not over tighten.
7. To comply with water regulations it is essential to t
isolating valves in the hot and cold pipework connections
beneath the tting. This allows each supply to be
independently isolated thus making it easier to service
and / or remove the tting.
8. Connect the hot and cold water supply to the exi tails.
9. All earth bonding work should be undertaken by a
qualied person.
