2.1 RJ45 patch cable
Connect RJ45 patch cable to RJ45 CAN bus socket.
2.2 CAN bus cable on single wires
To increase protection against interference, use pairwise-twisted cable according to DIN 47100, such
as the 4-wire cable type LiYCY(TP) 2x2x0.75mm². Alternatively, use the 3-core cable type LiYCY
3x0.75mm².
Remove sheathing from cable
1. Remove 70mm of the cable sheathing and braided screen.
2. Strip 8mm of insulation from the wires and press on wire end sleeves with a maximum of
0.75mm².
Put on cable screening (
Fig. 5)
1. Remove sheathing from the cable for an additional 8mm so that 8mm of the braided screen
is exposed.
2. Pull the 8mm of braided screen over the sheathing. ( Fig. 3)
Fig. 3 Pull over braided screen
3. Screw open the mounting clip of the screened connection enough so that the cable can be
threaded through it.
4. Thread the cable through and put the braided screen onto the screened connection surface.
CAUTION! Malfunction due to a lack of screen contact!
The braided screen must absolutely have contact to the screened connection surface.
The contact to the mounting clip is not a secure connection!
Do not put on cable screening (
Fig. 6)
1. Cleanly remove remains of screen that protrude over the sheathing.
2. Screw open the mounting clip of the screened connection enough so that the cable can be
threaded through it.
3. Thread the cable through and check that no braided screen is touching the screened
connection surface or the mounting clip.
CAUTION! Malfunction due to screen contact!
The braided screen must not have contact with the screened connection surface and
mounting clip.
Fasten cable
Fix the threaded cable with the mounting clip. Do not screw the mounting clip on too tightly
to keep the screw from damaging the mounting rail bracket.
