[2] LUBRICATION
Apply 7g in total of Makita grease N. No.1 to the portions designated with gray arrows and a little amount of that to
the portions designated with the white arrows to protect parts and product from unusual abrasion.

Repair
1) Remove Base and M4x16 Hex. socket head bolt using Hex. wrench 3 (Standard accessory).
2) Slide the the protrusions of Dust cover and remove Dust cover from Housing set. (Fig. 3)
3) Remove nine 4x18 Tapping screws and one 4x35 Tapping screw. Housing R can be removed. (Fig. 3)
Refer to Figs. 4 (4326, 4326M, 4327, 4327M, M438) and 4a (4328, 4329, M439).
1) Remove Slider section from Collar sleeve.
2) Remove Collar sleeve from Gear complete. As for 4326, 4326M, 4327, 4327M and M438, Bearing case complete,
Thrust plate and Gear complete can be removed in this step.
3) As for 4328, 4329 and M439, remove Retaining ring S-6 from the pin of Bearing case complete using 1R291.
Bearing case complete, Push plate, Balance plate and Gear complete can be removed.

Repair
Refer to Figs. 4 and 4a.
1) Assemble Armature ass'y to Bearing case complete.
2) As for 4326, 4326M, 4327, 4327M and M438, mount Thrust plate on Bearing case complete. (Fig. 4)
As for 4328, 4329 and M439, after inserting Thrust plate to Dust seal, mount them on Bearing case complete. (Fig. 4a)
3) Connect Armature shaft gear and the pin of Bearing case complete to Gear complete through the holes of Balance plate.
As for 4328, 4329 and M439, fit Retaining ring S-6 into the groove of the pin of Bearing case complete using 1R291.
4) Face the collar side of Collar sleeve to Gear complete, and mount Collar sleeve on Gear complete.
5) Put Collar sleeve into the hole of Slider section after assembling the components.
Remove Armature ass'y from Bearing case complete using 1R269 as illustrated in Fig. 5.

Refer to Fig. 6.
1) Remove Stop ring E-4 behind Lever 18 using a slotted screwdriver.
2) Align Lever 18 with III mark on Housing set and pull out Lever 18.
Steel ball 4 and Compression spring 4 can be removed.

Repair
Referring to Fig. 7, Assemble Fig.R to Housing L.
Note: 1) Firmly insert O rings into the bottom of holes in Housing R so as not to fall off. (The bottom positions have
ribs for prevention of falling them off.)
2) Be sure to set each component in place of Housings R and L. Do not pinch Polyurethane sponge seal.
3) Do not put Leaf spring under Slider. Insert Leaf spring to the holder of Housing R so that the Leaf spring
is parallel to Slider section and vertical to Housing L.

Do not slack the lead wires. Be sure to route them as illustrated.
