1 Introduction
1.1 Important information on the Operators Manual
The Operator’s Manual is stored in the storage bin at the rear of the seat.
This Operator’s Manual contains important information on how to work safely, correctly and
economically with the machine. Therefore, it aims not only at new personnel, but it also
serves as a reference for experienced personnel. It helps to avoid hazardous situations and
reduce repair costs and downtimes. Furthermore, the reliability and the service life of the
machine will be increased by following the instructions in the Operator’s Manual. This is why
the Operator’s Manual must always be kept at hand in the machine.
Your own safety, as well as the safety of others, depends to a great extent on how the
machine is moved and operated. Carefully read this Operator’s Manual before putting the
machine into operation. This Operator’s Manual will help to familiarize yourself more easily
with the machine, thereby enabling you to use it more safely and efficiently.
Follow chapter “Safety Instructions” in particular. As a rule, keep the following in mind:
Important
Careful and prudent machine operation is the best way to avoid accidents.
Operational safety and readiness of the machine do not only depend on your skill, but also
on maintenance and servicing of the machine. This is why regular maintenance and ser-
vice work is absolutely necessary.
Extensive maintenance and repair work must always be performed by an expert with
appropriate training. Use only original spare parts for repairs. This ensures operational
safety and readiness of your machine, and maintains its value.
Special equipment and superstructures are not described in this Operator’s Manual.
We reserve the right to improve the technical standard of our machines without
adapting the Operator’s Manual.
Modifying Wacker Neuson products and fitting them with additional equipment and
attachments not included in our delivery program requires Wacker Neuson’s written
authorization, otherwise warranty and product liability for possible damage caused by
these modifications shall not be applicable.
Subject to modifications and printing errors.
Your Wacker Neuson dealer will be pleased to answer any further questions regarding the
machine or the Operator’s Manual.

Introduction
1.3 Brief description
The Wacker Neuson mobile excavator model 9503WD is a self-propelled operating
machine according to the Austrian road traffic regulations.
Get informed on and follow the legal regulations of your country.
This machine is a versatile and powerful helper for moving earth, gravel and debris on con-
struction sites and elsewhere. A wide range of attachments accounts for the numerous
applications of the machine, among others hammer and grab applications. See chapter
1.4 Fields of application, attachments for further applications. This chapter lists all
attachments Wacker Neuson has released for this machine model.
The main components of the machine are:
Upper carriage
Undercarriage and
Boom
The upper carriage houses the drive consisting of the diesel engine and the hydraulic
pumps with summated pressure control. The summated pressure control of the hydraulic
pump ensures the optimal adaptation of force and speed during work cycles, and supplies
a constant power output.
The upper carriage also houses the controls for the hydraulic system, the swivel gear with
the hydraulic motor, the cab and the tanks for the hydraulic oil and the fuel.
The upper carriage is connected with the undercarriage by means of a live ring. Energy
and signals are transmitted between the upper carriage and the undercarriage by means
of the hydraulic and electric swivel joint.
The undercarriage houses the traveling drive consisting of the hydraulic motor, the transfer
gearbox and the axles with planetary reduction drives.
In addition to the continuously rotatable upper carriage, the two-piece or three-piece
(option) boom can be slewed to the left by 75°, or by 51° to the right.
The diesel engine has an optional automatic idling speed function.
If no machine function is required, this function switches the engine to idling mode after
a few seconds. As soon as a function is selected, the engine speed is automatically set
back to operating speed. This greatly reduces exhaust emissions and fuel
consumption.
Important
The machine can be equipped with the “Telematic” (GPS tracking) option!
Refer to the documentation supplied with the machine for more information on
how to use it.
Please contact your dealer if you require more information on the “Telematic”
option.
