The Volume Control box allows you to adjust the volume levels for the USB
Phone’s Speaker and Microphone components.
The Audio Device Settings box provides a shortcut to changing the primary audio
driver on your computer. This setting is system-wide, meaning that all sounds
coming from any programs running on your computer (including your media player
and web browser) will be streamed to the selected setting. It is recommended that
this setting be left at its default setting, which usually is the primary soundcard
installed in your computer.

Using the Device
Making Calls
Directions on making calls with the USB Phone can be found on page 5 of this
User Manual, within the descriptions of the various operating modes of the USB
Phone.
Adjusting Ring Volume
Ring tone loudness can be adjusted by changing the Volume setting in the System
Tray. Look for the Speaker icon in the bottom right corner of the screen where the
System Tray is.
Adjusting Voice Volume
You can adjust the loudness levels of the USB Phone’s speaker and microphone.
Right-click the USB Phone icon in the System Tray on the bottom right corner of the
screen, then left-click on “Volume Control”. A window will pop up allowing you to
adjust the Speaker and MIC volume levels.
You can also change the speaker volume during a call with the “Up” and “Down”

Changing Ringtones
The ringtone files are stored in the USB Phone software folder, which by default is
at C:\Program Files\SOYO USB Phone. The 4 ringtone files are music1.wav,
music2.wav, music3.wav and music4.wav, and can be replaced by renaming
personal sound files (in .wav format) to the music[1-4].wav filenames.
For example, rename a .wav format file to music1.wav and place the file in
C:\Program Files\ SOYO USB Phone. Then, press the RINGTONE button on the
USB Phone’s keypad to select your choice of the ringtone.
To put the USB Phone in ‘silent mode’, bring up the Advanced Settings menu and
check the “Silent Ringtone” box.
Double Ringing
If you don’t want both the USB Phone and your computer speakers blaring the
ringtone when a call comes in, you can configure Skype to not play the ringtone.
To do this, in Skype click on Tools, Options, Sounds, choose ‘ringtone’ in the
‘When’ pull down menu, and then uncheck the “Play sound’ checkbox.
Solving Echo Problems
When the hands free function is used and the MIC input volume is set too high,
echo can be heard on the other side of the call. To fix this, right click the USB
phone icon in the system tray and reduce the MIC value in the volume control
setting.
