Crutchfield Metra 70-1786 is a receiver wiring adaptor designed to connect a new receiver to a factory radio harness in select Mercedes vehicles. Connect to RCA outputs on receiver
Yellow - 12 Volts Constant Power
Red - 12 Volts Switched Power
White - Left Front Channel
Violet - Right Rear Channel
Green - Left Rear Channel
Gray - Right Front Channel
Black - Chassis Ground
Orange/White - Illumination
Blue/White - Amplifier Turn-On
Match wires below to the matching function of each wire on your receiver (refer to instructions supplied with receiver). The wire colors of your
new receiver may, or may not, match the wire colors of the adaptor. Match adaptor and receiver wires by function, disregarding color.
Individually tape off any unused wires.
Make final wiring connections following instructions on the next page.

1999-'03 Mercedes E-Class may not have a match for this wire. If
not, splice the Red wire from the receiver to the Black/Yellow wire
at the factory cigarette lighter.
1998-'00 Mercedes ML-Class vehicles only:
The wire that lines up with this slot must be
spliced into the antenna/amp remote wire
on the receiver wiring harness.

STEP 2 -- CONTINUED
A. Strip wires back 1/2”.
B. Twist wires together and
insert in crimp cap.
C. Squeeze middle of cap
for tight connection.

STEP 3 -- APPLICATION

E. Be sure to wrap any wires from
the Wiring Adaptor that are
not necessary (wires with no
match from the new receiver)
with electrical tape.
