1-1 Installation Precautions
The motherboard contains numerous delicate electronic circuits and components which can
becomedamagedasaresultofelectrostaticdischarge(ESD).Priortoinstallation,carefullyread
theuser'smanualandfollowtheseprocedures:
• Priorto installation,do notremove orbreak motherboardS/N (SerialNumber) stickeror
warrantystickerprovidedbyyourdealer.Thesestickersarerequiredforwarrantyvalidation.
• AlwaysremovetheACpowerbyunpluggingthepowercordfromthepoweroutletbefore
installing or removing the motherboard or other hardware components.
• Whenconnectinghardwarecomponents totheinternalconnectors onthemotherboard,
make sure they are connected tightly and securely.
• Whenhandlingthemotherboard,avoidtouchinganymetalleadsorconnectors.
• Itisbesttowearanelectrostaticdischarge(ESD)wriststrapwhenhandlingelectronic
componentssuchasamotherboard,CPUor memory.IfyoudonothaveanESD wrist
strap,keepyourhandsdryandrsttouchametalobjecttoeliminatestaticelectricity.

Priortoinstallingthemotherboard,pleasehaveitontopofanantistaticpad or within an
electrostatic shielding container.
• Beforeunpluggingthepowersupplycablefromthe motherboard, makesurethepower
supplyhasbeenturnedoff.
• Beforeturningonthepower,makesurethepowersupplyvoltagehasbeensetaccordingto
the local voltage standard.
• Beforeusingtheproduct,pleaseverifythatallcablesandpowerconnectorsofyour
hardware components are connected.
• Topreventdamage to themotherboard, do not allow screwsto come in contact withthe
motherboard circuit or its components.
• Makesuretherearenoleftoverscrewsormetalcomponentsplacedonthemotherboardor
within the computer casing.
• Donotplacethecomputersystemonanunevensurface
.
• Do not place the computer system in a high-temperature environment.
• Turning on the computer power during the installation process can lead to damage to
system components as well as physical harm to the user.
• Ifyouareuncertainaboutanyinstallationstepsorhaveaproblemrelatedtotheuseofthe
product,pleaseconsultacertiedcomputertechnician.
