Installation
Please ensure the wall is suitable for wall hung furniture. For stud wall
installations, add an extra timber support into the stud wall prior to finishing
the wall to improve strength.
1. Establish height and location of installation. HiB recommends an installation
height of 900mm to the top of the basin, as per Fig. 1.
2. Mark out required apertures needed for brassware and plumbing. Apply
masking tape over the areas to be cut to aid marking out and prevent damage to the
laminate.
3a. Plan the support bracket location. If using a stud wall, aim to place the
support brackets on stud centres if no other reinforcements have been made. HiB
recommends that you use a spirit level to ensure that the support brackets are
straight and are level. See Fig. 3. NB if the support brackets are placed at the
edge of the basin shelf then they will be visible once installed, see Fig.2.
3b. If applicable, plan the wall bracket location. HiB recommends that you use a
spirit level to ensure that the wall bracket(s) are straight and are level.
4. Cut suitable apertures for brassware and plumbing, as marked out in Step 2,
using a holesaw or jigsaw as per Fig.5.
5. All cut edges MUST be sealed fully with the sealant provided with the product as
per Fig. 5. Failure to do this will invalidate the warranty.
6a. Secure support brackets to the wall using fixings suitable for the wall structure.
6b. If applicable, secure wall bracket to the wall using fixings suitable for the wall
structure, see Fig. 7 overleaf.
7. Temporarily position the shelf on the brackets to check the level. Fine adjustments
can be made by altering the adjuster bolts (Fig. 4a) on the end of the support
bracket.
7a. Apply silicone sealant to the top surface of the support brackets, see Fig. 4c.
7b. If applicable, apply silicone sealant to the top surface of the wall brackets, see
Fig. 8 overleaf.
8. Position the shelf onto the brackets and screw the support bracket from
underneath into the underside of the basin shelf, as per Fig. 4b.
The waste assembly must be fitted to the basin only. The basin shelf is not
designed to be a part of the plumbing system.
9. Assemble basin and basin waste prior to fitting basin onto basin shelf.
10. Install brassware, basin(s) and plumbing in desired position. Ensure tap(s) and
basin(s) are securely siliconed in place, as per Fig. 6. Allow silicone to set before use.
