aged, contact your dealer immediately. Dispose all packing material according to local regu-
lations.
Preparations
- Choose a suitable place for the generator. It has to be outdoors on hard and even surface
at least 1 meter away from the nearest building in a clean and dry place. The generator
can be protected against the sunshine and rain with a shelter when the proper ventilation
is ensured. Do not place the generator near highly flammable or explosive substances.
- Make sure that the air filter is clean. ATTENTION: Never use the generator if the air filter
is not in appropriate condition. Dirt and dust damage the engine. If the air filter is
21
blocked by dust, use gasoline to clean the air filter, then dip in the oil, wring oil out and
put the air filter back.

Refuelling
-
Use the mixture of the gasoline and the two-stroke engine oil. The quality of the mixture is
essential to the engine function and life-time. If the mixture is not correct or it is mixed
against the instructions it may damage the engine severely. Make always sure that the
unleaded gasoline is fresh (less than 30 days old), clean and in minimum 95 octanes. Fol-
low the gasoline/oil mixture ratio instructions carefully.
-
Gasoline/oil mixture ratio: 50:1 (2 %, for example 1 liter unleaded gasoline + 20 ml 2-
stroke oil).
-
Use an approved fuel container and add first the motor oil and then the gasoline. Mix
well. Prepare the mixture ready only for few weeks needs since the mixture deteriorates.
Store the mixture in an approved container in a dry, dark and cool place.
-
Do not overfill the fuel tank. When the engine warms up, the fuel becomes warm and ex-
pands. If there is not enough space for the expansion, the fuel may leak and the hot en-
gine may ignite it.
OPERATION
Start
- Make sure that there are no appliances connected to the generator.
- Switch the motor switch to ON.
- Open the fuel cock. Close the choke if the engine is cold. If the engine is warm or the
weather is warm open the choke completely.
- Pull the starter few times slowly. Pull then the starter until resistance is felt. Pull after this
steadily, firmly and rather quickly. Return the starter handle carefully to its original posi-
tion. When the engine has started and starts to warm up, open the choke slowly.

Connecting electrical appliances
Before connecting an appliance or power cord to the generator, make sure that it is in good
working order. Faulty appliances or power cords can create a potential for electrical shock.
If an appliance begins to operate abnormally, becomes sluggish or stops suddenly, turn it off
immediately. Disconnect the appliance, and determine whether the problem is the appli-
ance, or if the rated load capacity of the generator has been exceeded. Never exceed the
maximum power of the generator. Power levels between rated (800W) and maximum power
(1000W) may be used for no more than 15 minutes. In either case, the total power require-
ments of all appliances connected must be considered.
1. Start the generator.
2. Make sure that the appliance to be connected is OFF. Plug the appliance to the genera-
tor.
3. Turn the appliance on. Note that a 1-phase 230 V appliance consumes more than its
rated wattage for start-up. This consumption depends on the appliance type.
Stopping the generator
1. Unplug appliances from the generator.
2. Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.
Emergency stop: Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.
ATTENTION: Turn the engine to the OFF position without unplugging the appliances only in
case of emergency.
Overload indicator
If the generator is overloaded (in excess of 1000W), or if there is a short circuit in a connect-
ed appliance, the red overload indicator light will go on. The overload indicator light will stay
on, and after about four seconds, current to the connected appliances will shut off, and the
output indicator light (green) will go OFF. Stop the engine and find out the problem, fix it and
restart the generator.
MAINTENANCE
Stop the engine before any maintenance.
Before each use
- Check screws’ and nuts’ looseness.
- Check fuel or air leakage
Every 20 hours
- Clean the air filter.
- Clean the fuel strainer.
Every 50 hours
- Tighten the nuts of the cylinder.
- Clean the accumulated carbon both in the combustion chamber and in the exhaust of the
cylinder.
- Clean the accumulated carbon in the spark plug, adjust the clearance (0.6mm).
- Clean the accumulated carbon both in the intake and in the exhaust of the muffler.
23
Spark plug service
To ensure proper engine operation, the spark plug must be properly gapped and free of de-
posits. In order to service the spark plug, you need a spark plug wrench. An incorrect spark
plug can cause engine damage.
CAUTION: If the engine has been running, the muffler will be very hot. Be careful not to
touch the muffler.
Recommended spark plug: L8RTC.
Transport and storage
Before storing the generator:
1. Drain the fuel tank and carburetor. Close the choke and pull the starter 2-3 times.
2. Remove the spark plug, add one tablespoon of suitable engine oil from the spark plug
hole into the cylinder. Pull the starter few times and reinstall the spark plug.
3. Clean the generator using a soft cloth.
4. Store the generator in upright position in a dry place with good ventilation and protected
