Followtheproceduresexactlyasstatedinthismanual,andheedallDANGER,WARNING,and
CAUTIONstatementsinthismanualaswellasthoseonthevehicle.
Donotleavechildrenunattendedonvehicle.
Childrenrequiringachildsafetyseatmustnotrideonthevehicle.Complywithstateandlocallaws
pertainingtochildsafety.
Thedriverandpassengermustberestrainedatalltimeswiththeseatbeltsprovidedtohelpprevent

thekey.Chockthewheelswhenservicingthevehicle.
Improperuseofthevehicleorfailuretoproperlymaintainitcouldresultindecreasedvehicle
performance,severepersonalinjury,ordeath.
Anymodicationorchangetothevehiclethataffectsthestabilityorhandlingofthevehicle,or
increasesmaximumvehiclespeedbeyondfactoryspecications,couldresultinseverepersonal
injuryordeath.
Thediameterofalltiresonthevehiclemustbeequal;otherwisethefour-wheeldrivesystemwillnot
operateasintendedandcouldresultinseverepersonalinjuryordeath.Neverinstalltiresofdifferent
diametersonthevehicle.
Checkthevehicleforproperlocationofallvehiclesafetyandoperationdecalsandmakesuretheyare
inplaceandareeasytoread.
Forvehicleswithcargobeds,removeallcargobeforeraisingthebedorservicingthevehicle.Ifthe
vehicleisequippedwithaproprod,ensurethatitissecurelyengagedwhilebedisraised.Donot
closebeduntilallpersonsareclearofcargobedarea.Keephandsclearofallcrushareas.Donot

Wearsafetyglassesorapprovedeyeprotectionwhenservicingthevehicle.Wearafullfaceshieldand
rubbergloveswhenworkingonornearbatteries.
Donotwearlooseclothingorjewelrysuchasrings,watches,chains,etc.,whenservicingthevehicle.
Useinsulatedtoolswhenworkingnearbatteriesorelectricalconnections.Useextremecautionto
avoidshortingofcomponentsorwiring.
Whenservicingthevehiclewithpartofthevehicleonjackstands,donotoperatetheenginewiththe
Forward/ReversehandleineithertheFORWARDorREVERSEposition.Thefour-wheeldrivesystem

TheForward/Reversehandle(6)islocatedontherightsideoftheinstrumentpanel(Figure5).Thehandlehasthree
distinctpositions:FORWARD(A),NEUTRAL(B),andREVERSE(C).Pushthehandleuptooperatethevehicleinthe
forwarddirection,orpullthehandledowntooperatethevehicleinreverse.Theenginecanbestartedonlywhen
thehandleisintheNEUTRAL(middle)position.TheenginemustbeatidlebeforeshiftingtheForward/Reverse
handle.SeeprecedingWARNINGSandCAUTION.
Thisvehicleoperatesatareducedspeedinreverse.
ACCELERATORPEDAL
Theacceleratorpedal(1)isthepedalfarthesttotheright(Figure5).
WiththeenginerunningandtheForward/ReversehandleintheFORWARDorREVERSEposition,vehiclespeed
willincreaseastheacceleratorpedalispressed.Whentheacceleratorpedalisreleased,itwillreturntotheoriginal
positionandtheenginewillidle.SeeprecedingWARNINGSandCAUTION.
BRAKEPEDAL
Thebrakepedal(2)islocatedtotheimmediateleftoftheacceleratorpedal(Figure5).T osloworstopthevehicle,
pressthebrakepedal.
PARKBRAKEHANDLE
Theparkbrakehandle(5)islocatedbetweenthedriverandpassengerseats(Figure6).T oengagetheparkbrake,
rstapplypressuretothebrakepedal,thenpullupontheparkbrakehandleuntilhandlelatchesintoplace.To
disengage,liftleverbeneathhandle,thenpushhandledown.Foradjustmentofparkbrake,seePerformance

5).Thewarninglightindicatesthattheparkbrakehasbeenengaged.Thevehicleshouldneverbedrivenwiththe
parkbrakeengaged.Ifthewarninglightremainsonaftertheparkbrakehasbeenfullydisengaged,haveatrained
techniciancheckthevehicle.
FRONTAXLECONTROL
Thefrontdriveunitengagementlever(3)islocatedontherightsideoftheinstrumentpanel(Figure5).Thehandlehas
twopositionsmarked4X4and4X2.Pushthehandleuptoengagethefrontwheeldriveunitorpushthehandledown
todisengagetheunit.Theengagementleverwasdesignedtobeshiftedwhilethevehicleisinmotionsomomentumis
notlostwhileoperatingonslipperyterrain.Thelevershouldalsobedisengagedwhilethevehicleisinmotion.
WARNING
Donotoperatethevehicleonimprovedsurfaces(concrete,asphalt,etc.)in“4X4”mode.Doingso
increasessteeringeffort,tirewear,andshiftingeffort.
DIFFERENTIALLOCKCONTROL
Thereardifferentiallockcontrolhandle(4)islocatedontherightsideoftheinstrumentpanel(Figure5).Thehandle
hastwopositionsmarkedDIFFwithalockedpadlockiconandDIFFwithanunlockedpadlockicon.Pushthehandle
uptoengagethedifferentiallockorpullthehandledowntodisengagethedifferentiallock.

LOWOILPRESSUREWARNINGLIGHT
Thelowoilpressurewarninglight(9)islocatedontheinstrumentpaneljusttotheleftofthesteeringcolumn(Figure
5).Ifthewarninglightcomesonwhiletheengineisrunning,theoillevelshouldbecheckedandoiladdedtothe
engineasnecessarybeforevehicleusecontinues.Thevehicleshouldneverbedrivenwhenthelowoilpressure
warninglightremainslit.Ifthewarninglightgoesonandoff,thevehiclemaybedriven,butoilshouldbeaddedat
therstopportunity.Iftheoilleveliscorrectandthewarninglightremainslit,haveatrainedtechniciancheckthe
vehicle.SeefollowingCAUTION.
CAUTION
Failuretoaddoilimmediatelywhenthelowoilwarninglightstaysonmayresultinpermanent
enginedamage.
FUELGAUGE/HOURMETER
Thefuelgaugeandhourmeter(8)arehousedtogetherontherightsideoftheinstrumentpanel(Figure5).Thefuel
gaugeoperateswhenthekeyswitchisintheONpositionandallowstheoperatortomonitorthefuellevelinthevehicle.
Thehourmeteroperatesonlywhentheengineisrunning,andshouldbeusedbythetrainedtechniciantotrackvehicle
usageanddeterminewhenperiodicserviceproceduresarerequired.SeePeriodicServiceScheduleonpage31.
HEADLIGHTCONTROL
Theheadlightcontrol(12)islocatedontheleftsideoftheinstrumentpanel(Figure5).Presstheheadlightrocker
switchtoturntheheadlightsonoroff.SeefollowingNOTE.

TheROPSmustbeproperlyinstalledbeforeoperatingthevehicle.Husqvarnastronglyurgesthatthe
vehicle’soccupantsbeproperlyrestrainedatalltimeswiththeseatbeltsprovided.
Pregnantwoman:Consultyourdoctorforspecicrecommendations.Theseatbeltshouldbewornsecurelyand
aslowaspossibleoverthehipsandnotonthewaist.
Injuredperson:Dependingontheinjury,rstcheckwithyourdoctorforspecicrecommendations.

tabintothebuckle.Aclickwillbeheardwhenthetablocksintothebuckle.Positionthelapbeltaslowaspossible
onthehipsnotonthewaist.
Theretractorwilllockthebeltduringasuddenstop.Aslow,easymotionwillallowthebelttoextend,andtheoccupant
canmovefreely.Iftheseatbeltcannotbepulledoutoftheretractor,rmlypullthebeltandreleaseit.Itshouldthen
pullsmoothlyoutoftheretractor.
Toreleasetheseatbelt,pressthebucklereleasebutton(1)andallowthebelttoretract(Figure7).Ifthebeltdoesnot
retractsmoothly,pullitoutandcheckforkinksortwists.Thenmakesureitremainsfreeoftwistsasitretracts.
