How to Make and Answer Calls
Making Calls

How to Call Forward
Enabling
1. From the Lines View, tap Forward
2. Select the forwarding type (Always, No Answer, or Busy)
and enter the forwarding number
3. Tap Enable soft key if selecting Always, you’ll see
Disabling
1. Tap Forward
2. Selet the type of forwarding you wish to disable
3. Tap Disable
How to Access Voicemail
From Home View
1. Tap Messages then tap Message Center
2. Tap Connect. If you have multiple lines, highlight/tap the line,
then tap Connect
3. Enter your voicemail passcord (default is ____)
If you’re accessing your Voicemail for the first time, please
refer to the “How to Set up and Manage Your Voicemail guide”
How to Transfer a Call
Consultative Transfer (With Announcement)
1. On an active call, tap Transfer (the caller will be placed on
hold)
2. When you hear the dial tone, dial the number
of the party you wish to transfer the call to and tap
3. When the party answers, announce the call and
tap Transfer again to complete the transfer
Blind Transfer (Without Announcement)
1. On an active call, tap Transfer (the caller will be placed on
hold)
2. When you hear the dial tone, tap Blind,
dial the number of the party to transfer the
call to (you can also choose a call from the list) and tap
The call is transferred
How to Set up a 3-Way Conference
From the Lines, Calls, or Active Calls View
1. While on an active call, tap Confrnc
(the active call will be placed on hold)
2. When you hear the dial tone, enter the number of
the party you wish to have a conference with and tap
3. After the party answers, tap Confrnc again
All parties will be part of the conference call
To Split and Re-Join a Conference
1. While on a conference call, tap Split
(both active calls will be placed on hold)
2. Highlight/tap one of the held calls
3. To speak only with that party, tap Resume
4. To resume, from the Active Calls View, tap the held call
5. Tap More twice to locate the Join option
6. Tap Join to rejoin all parties
How to Adjust the Ringer and Handset Volume
1. To change the ringer volume: when the phone is idle, press
the - or + buttons located below the Dial Pad
2. To change the handset or speaker volume: during an active
call, press the - or + buttons located below the Dial Pad
How to Set Do Not Disturb (DND)
1. From the Lines View, tap More, then DND
2. If you have more than 1 line, select the line you wish to
enable DND on, then tap the Enable soft key
3. To disable, repeat steps 1 and 2 (multiple lines: select Disable)
How to Park and Retrieve Calls
Park at another extension
1. While on an active call, tap More
2. Tap Call Park. An announcement
is played and the caller is placed on hold.
3. Enter the extension where you wish to park the call and
press the # key. An announcement is played to confirm the
Call Park at the extension entered.
Retrieve the call from another extension
1. To retrieve a parked call, tap Retrieve.
An announcement is played.
2. Enter the extension where the call is parked, press the # key
to retrieve the call and speak with the party
Accessing Placed, Missed and Received Calls
From Home View
1. Tap Directories, then tap Recent.
Icons displayed next to the call indicate:

Placed Call
2. To dial, highlight/tap a call in the list
Group Pickup
If you’re part of a Group Pickup, when a call comes in on another
phone, tap Pickup
How to Access the Business Web Portal
1. Using a Web Browser, go to:
bvoip.hawaiiantel.com
2. Enter your User ID ( your 10-digit phone number), and
default Password (____)
3. On first log-in, change your password
How to Set up Voicemail-to-Email
1. From the Options Menu, click Messaging
2. Click Voice Management to set up voicemail options
3. Under “Additionally…”, check Email a carbon copy of the
message to and enter the email address you’d like your
messages sent to
4. Click Apply or OK to save
How to Setup a Monday-Friday Time Schedule
1. From the Options Menu, click Schedules and click Add
2. Enter a name for the schedule (e.g. “M-F Business Hours”)
3. Leave the schedule type as Time and click OK
4. Select the schedule by clicking Edit or the schedule name
5. Click Add to add an event to the schedule
6. In the “Event Name” box, enter Monday to Friday
7. Enter the “Start Date” as any future business day
8. Enter the “Start Time” (e.g. “8:00 AM”)
9. For the “End Date”, select the same day as the “Start Date”
10. Enter the “End Time” (e.g. 4:00 PM)
11. From the “Recurrence Pattern” Drop-down box, select Weekly
12. Check: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri checkboxes
13. Leave “End” as Never and click OK to save the event
You can now map this event to your Business Anywhere
How to Set up Business Anywhere
1. From the Options Menu, select Call Control
2. Click Business Anywhere and click Add
3. Enter the Phone Number where you’d like to receive
simultaneous calls and provide a Description
(e.g. “My Mobile Phone”)
4. Make sure Enable this Location box is selected
5. Click OK to save
